Max2440 Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 How do you do the twin headlight conversion on the KE70 that everyone talks about??? what lights do you use and how easy is it? Thanks Quote
JiP Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Have you used the search function?? There have been a million threads about twin headders. Quote
anastasios Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 well the best way is to use real jdm ones Quote
st.nick Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 I know of one of our members toying with a twin headlight setup from a TA Celica. He has had to custom fabricate brackets, but other than that... Maybe Corona ones might be an idea too Quote
JiP Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 LoL, Corona ones. If you like MASSIVE headlights. Quote
Pieman Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Try the kiwi forums like toyspeed.org.nz.. I've seen a few going around there. Quote
st.nick Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 LoL, Corona ones. If you like MASSIVE headlights. The old school RT130 (I think) would be the same size as a Corolla or Landcruiser wouldn't they (ie 7inch)?? Quote
7shades Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 (edited) Most standard twinnies are 5-3/4 inch. Most sealed beam headlights are a standard size for ease of replacement. Rectangular KE70 are 5x7", KE30-55 singles are 7". RA40 celicas and others with the twin rectangular headlights are 4x6" Corona twins are 5-3/4. So is everything else from old sigmas to toyota coaster buses. You can actually buy all brand new gear including brackets and cups to hold the headlights from narva... with halogen bulbs instead of sealed-beam.... I'm adapting TA22 ones to my KE70. Not a big job but the bezels are a bit wrong-looking so I'm making my own complete grille. Edited November 8, 2006 by 7shades Quote
jamesrolla Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 i used corona ones in my ke38 they look fine and i just drilled 2 new holes on the inside and used a few cable ties on the outside, but my car doesnt go on the road at all Quote
JiP Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 Ever wondered how a KE30 would look with Twinnies. Quote
jamesrolla Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 this is how my ke38 looks with the corona twinnies, i probaly should have made up proper brackets for them but i couldnt be bothered so i just cabletided one side in and just put one light plug on, i had both of the wired up but they started f*cking up so i just have the outside ones now Quote
