sleepercorty Posted June 10, 2009 Author Report Posted June 10, 2009 good to hear shes going good again, awesome car. :y: its a shame you are selling, but i understand, I'm in the same situation. A BA falcon though... :hmm: someones getting a good deal! yeh well maybe not selling now as i think the problem has come back and block is the last place, so may be doing a new motor in the next few weeks. And for the ba want to do a ba turbo wagon for the wifes daily to replace her 1jz cressida. Quote
sleepercorty Posted June 15, 2009 Author Report Posted June 15, 2009 problem is hopefully fixed the intake manifold had a leak between cylinder one and where the thermastat is. didnt leak water into the cylinder but did leak boost into the cooling system maybe 25psi is enough boost haha, so just hoping that was the only leak and that it doesnt have one in the block as well. so time to turn the boost up and see what happens. 13BT_KE20 Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 i hope its gone to a suitable person so its not wrapped around a tree or turned into a ricer Quote
sleepercorty Posted May 24, 2013 Author Report Posted May 24, 2013 So turns out this car loves me so much that i bought it back, saw a nice KE30 on ebay a few days ago and thought wow thats tidy and started dreaming (with no intention of buying it) and looked at it again, showed a couple of mates and so on and then it clicked to me, it had the same steering wheel mine used to, it had a ca18det, r31 diff like mine used to (with drum rear brakes), sigma control arms, guages in the dash the same as mine used to. Could see some green paint in one of the pictures where he had the kick panel of and my old one was green before it was white, it had extended shackles like mine used to so had to be mine. so called him and was the same owner, and i didnt need anymore cars as i currently have 15 but just had to have it. Its currently only a rolling shell so deciding what engine it needs? really want to stick to toyota and has to be legal and 400+rwhp capable. the ca18 that i built for it years ago was still in it and making 440rwhp and was still the same clutch and gearbox even so i must have built it good, but i bought it less motor and box 1 Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted May 24, 2013 Report Posted May 24, 2013 Was watching this too mate and dreaming, you got an absolute bargain imo, can't wait to see what you put in it. remember too the qld rules have changed, this category is now weight x 2.75 for turbo so a fair bit more room for capacity. Stenzel Posted May 26, 2013 Report Posted May 26, 2013 Looks the goods, if you don't mind how much did you pick it up for? Quote
sleepercorty Posted May 27, 2013 Author Report Posted May 27, 2013 $5000 Stenzel, the new laws would have been good if this was a ke55 I could put a 1jz in :) but ke30 is to light Quote
sleepercorty Posted May 29, 2013 Author Report Posted May 29, 2013 So the wife really liked the ca18 so will be putting another one back in it at this stage, I think for $5000 I can do a 400rwhp ca18 motor, box, computer and fuel system. I think 10's will be fast enough for a ke30 with a manual gearbox :) Quote
sleepercorty Posted May 30, 2013 Author Report Posted May 30, 2013 Ca18de and gearbox purchased $400 Pistons and rods $676 Waste gate and turbo $1020 That will be enough spending for this week, it's awesome owning my own parts shop had pistons, rods, turbo and gate in stock just pulled them off the shelf :) Quote
