David[RL] Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Where do I tap out the old oil from my 4k? Have looked under the engine but can't find it? Quote
andrew Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 you mean where do you drain it from? there will be a large drain plug Quote
demuire Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Should be a 17. Most of the Toyota sump and filler plugs are 17mm. Quote
Redwarf Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Or in Fook's Camry's case, 17mm, then 16 as we hammer a socket on it, then 15mm, hmmmmm, angle grinder time! :D Quote
demuire Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Hehe... You forget the welding of the spanner on the plug, and then the nut, and then the various drill bits... Quote
irokin Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 hahahaha...did someone do it up with a rattle gun??? Quote
irokin Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 this thread just gave me a stupid...but interesting idea.... Putting an accual TAP on the sump drain.... would make changing oil a whole heap quicker...but with a low viscosity oil I think it would slowly leak... Quote
demuire Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 There is already a product on the market that is just that - a tap. No idea how much it costs though. Quote
