BEACHSLEEPIN Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 I'm lowering my '80 wagon and want to de-arch the springs. I have a press, and the spring pack taken apart, so before I go bending and mess something up.could somebody give me a detailed description of the best method of doing this. I just want to make sure my ideas are on track. Quote
coln72 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 done it years ago but its too many beer cans in the past to give exact details :D don't go too far though, 2" drop at the springs put my KE35 on its bump stops Quote
counc Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 also be careful not to overload the leaf otherwise you will destroy the structural integrity of them and be yup for buying some new ones Quote
Jordan Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 just clamp the small leaf ontop of the stack upside down lowers 1.5-2" and rasises the rate. 1hour job Jordan Quote
casey Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 i have just brought myself another set of leafs in hope to make a 8 pack for ither side, from ehat i can under stand it will work, i will be making 2'' lowering blocks aswell should turn out good and be nice and hard if thats what your looking for prices (bare minimal) set of leafs from the wreckers $40 lowering blocks and u bolts(unsure so don't quote me) $100ish from pabs and (I'm unsure what these are called :2thumbs: but there held in buy rubber bits around the leaf (in the center) i think they may need moding some one quote me most other stuff should beabel to be done at home for very little $$$ go for what you think is the best but i like this idea Quote
Xany Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Lowering blocks are just a waste of space in my opinion....you're better off doing it right the first time and resetting the springs, like beachsleeper is going to try. good luck with it mate....hopefully you wont break anything :2thumbs: Quote
