spotlight :D (and I'm dead serious here) the old rollas are simple as to change the roof lining all you need is a sewing machine the material you wanna use and front and rear window rubbers. I done my old ke10 that way and am planning on doing my ke11 the same way.

I'm a trimmer... but I'm no help to you as I'm in Melb!

Go and see a local trimmer, you can't beat it. You will get a far better job than at home on the janome! (no offence counc)

You will pay more than a spotlight job but you WILL notice the difference.

lol no offence taken if you take your time like i did and can use a sewing machine you wont notice the difference ;) . And yes in the older models the roof lining goes under the windscreens so for a proper job they need to be removed.

The added bonus of getting a trimer to do it is they can organise the windows to be re-fitted after the job is done, well, thats what we do anyway. So its a nice drive in drive out situation.

i got mine done for the ke70 by a trimmer

can't remember but i thought it was ~100 to get it done.

all i did is took the original in with the metal rods and everything, and he used the original as a template and then just put the rods thru the new one.

then i took it home and put it in and got the windscreens put in.

philba, what you may find is that they are quoting you for:

1) removal of front and rear screens

2) removal of original roof lining

3) material

4) making the new lining

5) fitting the new lining

6)putting the front and rear screens back in.

with my car, my front screen was f@$ked, and i removed the rear screen myself before i did my paint work. so it was all out already.

once i got the lining made i of course had to get someone to come and put the screens back in (after repaint etc)

i can't remember what i paid, but my mate paid 55 each to take out and 55 each to put back in.

so 220 alone is just windscreen in and out.

but that was a mobile guy, not driven somewhere.

but if they are doing that i see whyt he price is high
