camerondownunder88 Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 (edited) Hi, After looking around for some 4K infor mation I found there were a few versions that had more power than a standard 4K-C. So I wanted to do p bit of a list here with the good and bad parts of the 4K motor so when where at wreckers we can look out for them. eg. what version of the 4K came witha warmed up cam..etc. So feel free to add to it... As I have noticed onteh FAQ that the 4K-c has a lot less power than the 4K-U and it has same compression bore and stroke size.etc. So how was it better? So here goes: Good: Versions: 4K-E,H Twin 40mm Webers / Dellorto's Regrind cam, pick your power curve Aftermarket extractors and 2 inch system Shaved head or 3K bigport (if you can find one) Bad: 4K-C polution system in the KE70 Aisan Carby Stock nanna spec cam Cast exhaust manifold and it's pea shooter All I have for now but with your input well make this list bigger..lol. Also I am more looking for infor mation on the cam head comp ration the 4K-H,E had to add to list so if you know keep it coming... Cameron Edited September 12, 2006 by camerondownunder88 Quote
irokin Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 I think 4K-H is the best one. AFAIK it was only released in the JDM Quote

muller Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 haha you fool. Everyone knows the mighty power of the 4K cannot be beaten What about a 5K? :D Quote
coln72 Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Had a 3k, 4k and 5k. In order of prefference 5k 3k 4k The 4k was a gutless piece of shit that required a lot of work to get it close to a stock 5k!!!!!! Quote
anastasios Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 really? because my 4k seems to go alot harder than my cousins 3k and same with the 4k in my brothers ke70 Quote
beerhead Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 There's no replacement for displacement, apart from the a big ugly blower :D Your 4K must have had some issues. Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Agreed also, I have never had a 3K that would have beaten any of the 4K's I have had (all stock engines) the 5K owned the lot though, it has SO much more torque Quote
beerhead Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 I kinda miss the noise of the evil old K motor eh. Might have to build a nasty injected 5K one day to see what can be made of em. But I've got my cards full at the moment. 20V + RWD = pain is the ass + much $$$ Quote
coln72 Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 just found that the 4K we had wouldnt rev past 5000rpm as it was strangled by all of the pollution shit that was hanging off it, didnt have enough grunt to chirp the tyres and was generally a bucket of puss. Where the pre pollution 3k that came out would of shit all over it for performance. both of these engines were serviced and tuned by the guy that builds my race motors and I don't seem to be down on grunt. maybe we just had a shitter 4K or a very good 3k Quote
