gtstarlet Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 Hello Guys, Firstly Ive had my trusty 4k-e EFI starlet for a while now and it has had an intermitent tap in the top end for a while. I pulled the hydraulic tappets to bits this week and discovered that the diaphram's inside and rooted. So they are back in the car. Now I love my baby soo much that I need to keep her in a1 condition. What parts will I need to convert a hydraulic tappet 4k, to cam followers and pushrods. Will a 3k Solid lifter and cam follower work in a 4k hydraulic motor? Or do I need the 4k solid as a donor? Are the rod lengths different in 2/3/4k's? Quote
lappy Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 yes 4k rods are longer than 3k ones as far as i know 3k and 4k lifters are the same just the 4k pushrods are longer Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 it's just a straight swap, what do you want for the old hydraulic ones? Quote
gtstarlet Posted September 9, 2006 Author Report Posted September 9, 2006 it's just a straight swap, what do you want for the old hydraulic ones? Since I live in NZ that could be a pain. is it a straight swap for a 3k or 4k's pushrods and cam followers? The 4k would have slightly longer push rods huh? Obviously I'll need to go to 12 and 8 clearances to run solid lifters. Quote
