mikeys toy[RL] Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 ok; so kristy and i went to Kuai'i for our honemoon, and were only in the water for about 3 hours. it was awesome; we were where the river emptied into the ocean. you could see the freshwater mix with the salt water. it was a strange mix of ice cold fresh water and very warm saltwater. anyway, kristy was starting to get a little pink, so i said; "I think you're getting burned" even though she had spf 50 waterproof sunblock on. she said; "you look a little pink, too" but just barely. so we went in......after a couple of hours, we were red as lobsters and in excruciating pain. this is me on day 3....... Hiro Protagonist Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I remember getting 2nd degree sunburns at my year 8 swimming carnival all over my shoulders and upper back, I was NOT HAPPY JAN! Quote
SoulSearcher Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 ouch!!! sunburn is bad - especially on your honeymoon... We went to Thailand for 6 weeks and whilst in phuket Steve got badly burnt on his legs, so bad he swelled up, we got a spray on anesthetic which helped with the pain, but he couldn't wear shoes or thongs....we were walking through bangkok airport on an international flight and were spoken to by a number of officials (with guns) about no shoes, when he showed them the rest of his legs they pittied us and let him on with out shoes! Redwarf Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Congratulations, you have now joined that other group. Those that have, as opposed to those that are going to! I feel your pain, Brother! Quote

mikeys toy[RL] Posted September 6, 2006 Author Report Posted September 6, 2006 no, more like someone was uncarefully shaving layers of my skin with a dull razorblade... i had to lay on my belly, and on day/night 6 i awoke to find my back "leaking" over my shoulders and soaking the bed sheet. the trip back took a day longer than usual, so we were on 4 days w/o a shower and i was feeling pretty rank Quote
irokin Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 I thought skin cancer was enough of a deterrent in its own right...obveously not? Quote
