As the subject states this is something i have been advised maybe i need to look at. I was of the understanding that a 50 would be the best gearbox for the above situation but have been told that this wont work.

Can anyone shed some light on this and if it will work??

A W58 i think is overkill.A T50 will last if you treat it right. Shock loading will kill any gearbox.

A T50 will bolt up if you change the flywheel from the stock gze one.you will need any 8 bolt flywheel so a 86kw/100kw will fit and work.

Friend of mine in Canberra has a sprinter with a healthy GZE and he had the standard T50, and it lasted a few months worth of driting before going boom. So a T50 will definately last if you look after it, but as stated, no gearbox will put up with too much of a hard time without spitting
