ke20-in-the-act Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 As the subject states this is something i have been advised maybe i need to look at. I was of the understanding that a 50 would be the best gearbox for the above situation but have been told that this wont work. Can anyone shed some light on this and if it will work?? Danny Quote
Brendo Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 T50 would be a good box but u will break it if u are even slightly hard on it i reckon, probably a W58 supra 5 speed would be the best way to go Quote
Des Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 (edited) A W58 i think is overkill.A T50 will last if you treat it right. Shock loading will kill any gearbox. A T50 will bolt up if you change the flywheel from the stock gze one.you will need any 8 bolt flywheel so a 86kw/100kw will fit and work. Edited September 3, 2006 by too quick Quote
Jono Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 some site said t50's will take up to 200bhp. My mate put a steel case celica 5 speed behind his 4agze in his ke20 Quote
Des Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 (edited) I'm putting a t50 behind my gze.i will definetly let ya's know if it breaks. Edited September 3, 2006 by too quick Quote

Rolla__Boy Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Friend of mine in Canberra has a sprinter with a healthy GZE and he had the standard T50, and it lasted a few months worth of driting before going boom. So a T50 will definately last if you look after it, but as stated, no gearbox will put up with too much of a hard time without spitting Quote
