Rollaclub Re-enters The World Of Irc

Due to a recent spate of chat like threads, we thought it might be a good idea to try an IRC channel again. We still ask that basic Rollaclub guidelines be followed i.e. be nice. Think of it as a casual rollaclub area without the fear of being reprimanded by a moderator for being off-topic, chatty or asking stupid questions etc.

 

So where do you go?

 

The server is: irc.ausirc.net

and the channel is #rollaclub

 

Java Applet is now available. Chatting now is as simple as point and click!

Once youre connected you can change your nickname with "/nick nickname"

Odd....havent changed anything. Still working in linux. Make sure you hit "Yes" at the security prompt.

Nothing wrong with idling. Infact I'm going to encourage it! Some of us use or own clients and TheStig for instance is always online ;)

 

 

Stats are available for the IRC whores (thats encouraged too!) http://www.rollaclub.com/irc/stats. Automagically updated every 60 minutes. I'll jazz the page up a bit one day.

It'd be cool if you could incorporate the IRC into a frame at the bottom of the RollaClub page so it appears constantly while we're browsing through RollaClub. It would reduce the spam and crap posts in the forums so that more useful posts should be put in the forums themselves.

its something we were working on - it will be hard to achieve without use of Iframes (eeeek security flaws everwhere) or standard frames - ewwwwwwwww

 

and then you have to decide on how much screen real estate you are happy to lose to a tool that not everybody will use.

 

we will work on something tho .... rest assured we have the cleanliness of the board in mind
