Medicine_Man Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 At last we got the bastard out lastnight, Next friday I will be assisting in the removal of the 4K. Quote
Des Posted September 2, 2006 Author Report Posted September 2, 2006 what kind of gauge cup is that? is it actual carbon fibre or just a carbon look? I pulled the gauge out of the cup and had a look and its actual carbon fibre, when ya hold it in your hand you can't even notice its there. I might actually get the 4k out during the week and seriously start hunting down the parts. More rust removal is needed i will do that on the next available sunny day i get. :) cheers des Quote

irokin Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 Threw the hks one in the shed never to be found again. good....theyre possibly the worst product HKS make. Quote
Andrew Ryan Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 Damn you work fast. Ooo, you're a fellow brown dash KE70...wouldn't happen to have a center console in there you don't want? I didn't have one, then got one off some mates, then broke it somehow when I was really drunk ;). I guess that's what you get. Quote
HEKTIC Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 thanks for the information on the gauge mate and good luck with the buildup ;) Quote
Des Posted September 6, 2006 Author Report Posted September 6, 2006 good....theyre possibly the worst product HKS make. i took the hks adaptor in to autobahn, I wanted to see the air filters for myself and they didnt sell them and no other filter would go on the adapter properly. When i was buying my filter some asian dude didnt even work there just walked up to me and pointed at my afm and said corolla and walked off, I was thinking well LA DI DAH some one knows toyota really well or owns a gze aswell. Whats the best air filter for very dusty conditions oiled or dry? I'm thinking oiled cause it catches the finer particles but will clog up quicker. autobahn was trying to sell me a $40 no name brand dry filter. Quote
irokin Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 apexi filters for the win. The best money can buy...not cheap. If youre using a hotwire AFM avoid oiled at all costs. Quote
Des Posted September 6, 2006 Author Report Posted September 6, 2006 i herd nothing but good about apexi, My mates mum has a apexi filter on her supra and dam its f**king huge and looks great.whats a hotwire afm. Quote
Dan Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 (edited) think you mean K40 or K50 Nah, T50s were in AE86/AE71s, and since hes doing the 4AGZE swap I'd presume that he'll want to back it up with the T series box, its stronger apparently EDIT: WTF, when I opened up this thread that comment was the last comment made... sorry about the late reply, lol Edited September 6, 2006 by Dan Quote
Des Posted September 6, 2006 Author Report Posted September 6, 2006 ^^^meh shit happens^^^ anyway whats a hotwire afm? is it a afm that has live power wires going to it something? Quote
Jono Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 (edited) what current it takes to heat the wire to the set temparature is used in a equation to work out air flow, since air flowing over it cools it down Edited September 6, 2006 by JC807 Quote
Des Posted September 6, 2006 Author Report Posted September 6, 2006 mine has the moving flapy door in it so its not a hotwire afm is it? Quote
