Waiting on my engine mounts, sc14, fly wheel and brakes then i should have everything. Gonna clean up the motor more soon paint the block, change timeing belt and water pump. Plus ill have to stop the ke35 to clean up the ke20 i just bought to use as a daily till the ke35 gets on the road. Quote

ChrisGT Posted October 5, 2006 Author Report Posted October 5, 2006 (edited) been bust with the ke20 lately but still have done some work on the ke35, I have changed timing belt, water pump, some seals and cleaned up the motor by painting the block, rocker covers, pulleys, polishing the water pump pulley, fuel rail and CAS. Here are some pics! Edited October 5, 2006 by ChrisGT Quote
Medicine_Man Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Thats looking hot as, Going to look even better in the car :2thumbs: Quote
JiP Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Very Hot, that orange just makes it stand out. :2thumbs: Quote
ChrisGT Posted October 15, 2006 Author Report Posted October 15, 2006 (edited) does look good in the car: Yesterday i fitted my ae82 flywheel and new clutch and the gearbox. Bolted the gearbox in the car and sat the engine on some ae71 mounts, they fit without the rubber mounts, here is how close they come: my dads mate who was going to make the mount is very busy so I'm just going to make them myself. Hopefully they will be done in a couple of weeks. Edited October 15, 2006 by ChrisGT Quote
Des Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Hey hey, What sort of paint did you use for the valve covers and CAS. What prep work did you do. Instead of painting mine i was going to polish them up at a mates place on a linishing pad. But painting them seems to be a better option. Des. Ps: Top work mate, Your inspiration for all the lazy arse's out there, ie me Quote
ChrisGT Posted October 19, 2006 Author Report Posted October 19, 2006 Thanks mate. All i did was degrease them hit them with a wire brush bit on the drill (worked really well to get the all the crap off), primered them, and used enamel car paint. Also got my hilux 4pots and corona struts today so i will be rebuilding the calipers and making some coilovers! Quote
Retrospekt Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Any chance you could do a write up on the corona sturt with hilux 4 pot conversion? ie. whats needed, what needs to be modded etc? Also what are you running out the back? I'm kind of at a loss as to what i should do with mine :D Quote
Jason Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 ummmm there a well known guide on toyods on how to do it and btw its all bolt in Quote
Retrospekt Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 ok thanks, i knew about the corona struts but was told to stick with the 2 pots but use early toyota crown 5 stud hubs on them, might look into this now thanks again. Quote
