ScottKE1X Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 I need to know for sure if the engine number on a K motor starts with a K or not. I mean does it say K-89768590 for example?? NOTE: needs to be a K motor, not 3k, 4k or 5k just K. I need to know what it starts with and how many numbers and letters in total. Thanks! Scott. Quote
ScottKE1X Posted August 10, 2006 Author Report Posted August 10, 2006 don't worry all, everything is sorted. I was just worried my ke10 wouldnt be able to be rego'd cause it has a 4k but it all went through! got a legally registered ke10 - 4k!! wow! Quote
TOM Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 Hey Scott just so you know you can legally register a KE11 with up to a 5K in South Australia without changing brakes or suspension. I'm not sure about the early car with 2K (1100cc) motors, but anything with a 3K can legally go to 4K or 5K. The law states that (on standard brakes and suspension) any conversion can't be more than 30% more powerful than the standard motor, so technically an internally modded 5K should even get through regency so long as it doesn't have massive twin webers hanging off it. Does your car have discs on front? If so that may pose a problem with regency if it hasn't been engineered...... Quote
KJ's Rollas Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 Ke10's origional engine number doesn't start with a K... the dead set stock origional fleet of KE10's ran just numbers in the engine number without the K in front. KJ :-) Quote
