Nitephyre Posted January 30, 2007 Author Report Posted January 30, 2007 Raven said: That spoiler so doesnt do it for me dude. I woulda gone with something along the lines of an AE82 Twinky hatch spoiler. Yeah, I know everyone won't like it... at first it it was just a "what if" but it was such a good price I thought, meh... f@$k it :o It came of a late 70's Cortina (the roundish ones just before the square mini-XD falcon ones) :) I'll be going to see Pedders @ Geebung soon to get the rear end sorted out, but first I'm getting the alignment/balance fixed up on Tuesday (I need a tie rod end & rack end replaced, RHS I think), as well as the brakes (probably standard for the moment) and then I think she'll be driving sweet. Mr Dwarf, I'll pm you to see if you're available on Saturday so I can come and rummage through your nut sack. Cheers, Matt :) Quote
Redwarf Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 I'll be in Sth Oz again by then. Home again on Tuesday but..... Quote
Nitephyre Posted January 30, 2007 Author Report Posted January 30, 2007 Aww dang... Ah well, I need to replace all of mine anyway... Supercheap have the ones I need for $9.95 a pack which I suppose is ok... might call repco see if they do them separately. Cheers :) Quote
Raven Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 It looks like a Falcon GT spoiler of sorts. TC/D Cortina's never had spoilers haha, same with TE/F (Square ones). Quote
Nitephyre Posted January 31, 2007 Author Report Posted January 31, 2007 (edited) well, It mightn't have been OEM to the Cortina, but that's the car it was on when I got it from the wreckers, hence what it came off :) Edited January 31, 2007 by Nitephyre Quote
Nitephyre Posted February 12, 2007 Author Report Posted February 12, 2007 (edited) wOOt, I've now got the console all installed, now it's looking much better in the front. I'll chuck up a picture soon. The dash works almost perfectly, although the trip meter seems to be working VERY slowly now... Any ideas? I'm attaching instructions on how to install a tacho dash into an Esev van  A big shout out to Teddy who gave me the 101% overrated plastic fascia for the dash ;) Cheers, Matt :( INSTALL_E7_TACHO_DASH_INTO_AN_E7_PANELVAN.pdfFetching info... Nitephyre Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 Quick question... What could be causing the car to be smoky at the moment... It's full of new oil plus I put a bottle of that Old Engine Bits Coateruperer in it and a bottle of Clean All That Old Crap From The Fuel System in the last fill up. It's mainly blowing blue smoke under hard revs, but seems to blow a small amount at normal driving. Clues? Quote
Redwarf Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Dunno, but what was it doing at Blissy's this morning? :jamie: Quote
Nitephyre Posted February 17, 2007 Author Report Posted February 17, 2007 getting a quick adjustment of the exhaust.. it was rattling after they replaced the flange gasket last week :jamie: Quote
Trev Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Is the new oil the same grade, And how bad is it smoking now? Quote
Nitephyre Posted February 21, 2007 Author Report Posted February 21, 2007 Trev, it's Valvoline standard povo white label stuff, whatever the grade is.. still smoking as above. It's not leaking oil anymore... Where's the real Nick, this one's an impostor! :lolcry: Quote
Nitephyre Posted March 10, 2007 Author Report Posted March 10, 2007 So, come on guys.... I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! </5thElement> I would have expected a lot of helpful replies from the Awesome Rollaclub Community, but I guess not... ;) Would draining the oil and refilling help? Robbo are you back in QLD yet, maybe I could come over and see if you could try and tune the bitch a bit.. I'd be happy to hand over some liquid persuasion... On another note, since my calendar is now finished I was pondering whether we could plan another one, but make this one follow the financial year... Quote
Raven Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Blue smoke is burning oil usually. Black smoke is excessive fuel. So I'd say the oil rings are getting worn. Quote
Nitephyre Posted March 10, 2007 Author Report Posted March 10, 2007 It's blue smoke mainly, it could be using excessive fuel but I don't think so as it's a burnt oil smell as well. It's not blowing constantly, mainly on acceleration, doesn't seem to be on idle. Quote
