Corolla_Kid Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 So its not a tooth out? I had a similar problem and yeah it was cause the dizzy was 180 degrees out. Quote
Robert Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 your condenser can not touch an earth. Quote
Nitephyre Posted November 14, 2006 Author Report Posted November 14, 2006 still no love with this f@$ker. Nick, what're you doing Sunday? Wanna come take a look to see if you can find anything obvious i've missed? Cheers, Matt :hmm: Quote
Nitephyre Posted November 15, 2006 Author Report Posted November 15, 2006 no worries, was just an idle thought mate :hmm: Quote
Nitephyre Posted December 11, 2006 Author Report Posted December 11, 2006 So I've got the running problems fixed, turned out I had put the distributor back in a tooth or two off, you learn something new all the time. Anyway, do any local brissy people have a stronger than 90psi air compressor that I could make use of, as I need to change the main oil seal and the pulley bolt has been gorilla'd back on with air tools it seems... i've tried a good torque wrench with a bit of "persuasion" plus my rattle gun to no avail, the f@$ker just won't come off. I'd need it to come to me as the car is again in bits as i'm also replacing the exhaust with a nice 2 1/4 system (Thanks Beery!) and this week(end) would be handy Cheers, Matt :P Quote
Nitephyre Posted December 14, 2006 Author Report Posted December 14, 2006 *echo echo echo* Anyone? I'm desperate here! :) Quote
Medicine_Man Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 I once accidently left my ratchet on the crank when I was adjusting the dizzy on the 4AC in my sprinter, went to start it and after I got it running, noticed the ratchet and bolt lying on the concrete.. Somehow the ratchet managed to hit the swaybar and it wound it off.. Best way to get it off is to key it over with a breaker bar like nick said.. We had that fun with his 4AC to replace his timing belt when he first got his AE71.. Quote
Nitephyre Posted December 14, 2006 Author Report Posted December 14, 2006 nope, we tried using the starter as a big hit of torque, didn't budge the f@$ker at all... anything else? Quote
Medicine_Man Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 You need Teddy's MOFO breaker bar.. Quote
Paul Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 Spray CRC / WD40 or equivalent on the bolt a few times a day for a few days and try again Monday. It'll budge;) Quote
Nitephyre Posted December 14, 2006 Author Report Posted December 14, 2006 problem is I don't have a big breaker bar myself... :/ But i'll at least spray it with wd40... Quote
Jason Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 try a street sign pole, always works for those hard to get bolts :) no I'm not joking, i used one to get my head bolts out Quote
Nitephyre Posted December 15, 2006 Author Report Posted December 15, 2006 no pipe... eh i'll work out something Quote
Redwarf Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 Can lend pipe and mofo breaker bar if required. Redwarf Motorsport, tool providers to the stars! Quote
superbmobile Posted December 15, 2006 Report Posted December 15, 2006 yeah my 4ac was overhaeting bad the problems were a blocked radiator corroded head sticky thermostat heavy scale build up in the block. broken water bump and housing it was ridicoulous but now solved i got a radiator core flush and block flush it cost about $150 dollars but worked a treat.
