ancullen Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 3sgte over stearing adam flat changing 5th tisk tisk tisk Flat changing in the GT-Four? I have NEVER done that. Done it in pretty much every other car I've ever had, but DEFINITELY not the GT-Four. Too much grunt and too hard to do gear changes in it. yea not 2bad didnt get a ride on the dirt coz adam broke it...... has alot of grip for a fwd celica ;) did they actually win any rallys in it? Funny you mention that. I just checked and it only ever won one WRC round. I thought it won the 1994 World Rally Championship, but it was actually the ST185 that did that - I guess because the ST205 wasn't officially homologated until 1995. The ST205 won the 1995 Tour de Corse. In 1995, Toyota was banned from WRC for three years for using an illegal air restrictor (it didn't actually restrict the air under load - VERY sneaky). Then they returned in 1998 with Corolla WRC (an AE112 Corolla 3-door with ST205 running gear) and in 1999 again won the WRC. Here's Toyota's WRC wins: 1989 Rally Australia - ST165 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1990 Rally of Great Britain - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1990 Rally of Finland - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1990 Rally New Zealand - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1990 Acropolis Rally - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1990 Safari Rally - ST165 GT-Four - Bjorn Waldegaard 1991 Rallye Catalunya - ST165 GT-Four - Armin Schwarz 1991 Rally Argentina - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1991 Rally New Zealand - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1991 Tour de Corse - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1991 Rally de Portugal - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1991 Rallye Monte Carlo - ST165 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1992 Swedish Rally - ST165 GT-Four - Mats Jonsson 1992 Rally of Great Britain - ST185 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1992 Rally Catalunya - ST185 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1992 Rally New Zealand - ST185 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1992 Safari Rally - ST185 GT-Four - Carlos Sainz 1993 Rally Australia - ST185 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1993 Rally of Finland - ST185 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1993 Rally Argentina - ST185 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1993 Safari Rally - ST185 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1993 Swedish Rally - ST185 GT-Four - Mats Jonsson 1993 Rallye Monte Carlo - ST185 GT-Four - Didier Auriol 1994 San Remo Rally - ST185 GT-Four - Didier Auriol 1994 Rally Argentina - ST185 GT-Four - Didier Auriol 1994 Tour de Corse - ST185 GT-Four - Didier Auriol 1994 Safari Rally - ST185 GT-Four - Ian Duncan 1994 Rally de Portugal - ST185 GT-Four - Juna Kankkunen 1995 Tour de Corse - ST205 GT-Four - Didier Auriol 1998 Rally New Zealand - Corolla WRC - Carlos Sainz 1998 Rallye Catalunya - Corolla WRC - Didier Auriol 1998 Rallye Monte Carlo - Corolla WRC - Carlos Sainz World Rally Championship: 1st in 1993, 1994, 1999 2nd in 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1998 3rd in 1977 66th in 1995 - lol, cheating is cool :bash: Interesting to note that it appears the Corolla WRC didn't actually win any rounds in 1999, but was consistent enough that it won the Championship for that year. ancullen Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 Hes a news moderator now not a Region Leader ;) I'm both, bitch.
ae174agze Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 arrr adam just sturing shit ;) ahahahah sounded like u got a twin plate clutch probably break the gearbox befor the clutch ahahahah whats a good clutch to put behind like a 100-150 ish at the wheels 4age with a w55 gearbox
ancullen Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 The GT-Four has a dry plate clutch (apparently). Not sure about the clutch to use with the 4A-GTE and W55. Are you using a standard 4A-GE flywheel? I presume something like an Exedy heavy duty clutch would do the trick.
Pure-SX Posted January 31, 2008 Author Report Posted January 31, 2008 But it only says news moderator? ;) Its funny how the POS GT4 wins the most :bash: Any plans for weekend? BJ mentioned something about working on the corolla with you Adam?
ancullen Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 Yeah. Tonight we'll be doing a bit (I think). Over the weekend we plan on getting the 4A-GE into the KE70, and getting everything we need off the AE82 front so it can be taken away.
Pure-SX Posted January 31, 2008 Author Report Posted January 31, 2008 Nice I will be popping around tomorrow, probably midday ish to pick up the loom, might have a look at the ae82. don't think there is anything on it that I need. Sounds like a fun weekend ;)
ancullen Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 If there is anything you need you'll be paying a fortune for it. I've got to raise $2,100 to pay for my parts. ;)
