mattress Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 (edited) Ok guys i have been lurking here for a little while waiting to buy a car. Well last weekend i picked up a 1969 KE10B which was advertised on this forum. Reading through here a bit i see its advised to intro yourself and throw up some pictures of your car, so here they are. I bought the car with the intentions of painting it, putting in a new interior and using it as a daily driver. The car is already fitted with a 4k and 4 speed, so i'll be looking out for a 5 speed soon. Other than the KE10 i own an 89 celsior fitted with 20's and an aftermarket air bag controller and tank. Hopefully i'll be able to get plenty of info from here for my build up and maintenance....[attachme nt=7954:attachment][attac hment=7957:attachment] Edited September 2, 2007 by mattress Quote
Gavclassic Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Welcome aboard!, I can probally help with a tailight, also have a complete brown/beige interior to suit your car if interested ( 4 door trims + front & rear seats ) :) Quote
Dan Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Lovin' the Celsior, did you bag it yourself or did you get it like that already? f@$king mad... Oh, and nice KE10 :) Quote
mattress Posted July 30, 2006 Author Report Posted July 30, 2006 Gavclassic: sounds pretty good mate. Got any pics of the interior by any chance? Also, you couldnt help with a pair of tail lights could you? Dan: the celsior comes standard with an air bag system. My car has a 10 switch setup fitted as well as a bigger tank and compressor. It was modded before i got the car. Quote

mikeys toy[RL] Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 celsior?! here in the states we call that a lexus Quote
Nitephyre Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 nice rides mate... yeah mikey, JDM it was the Toyota Celsior, other markets Lexus LS400 (?). Models varied slightly with specs, but essentially the same car. Only with the latest models they're now badged as Lexus in JDM Quote
mattress Posted July 31, 2006 Author Report Posted July 31, 2006 Mikey they were released here as Nitephyre says, a Lexus LS400. Mine was imported from Japan so its a Toyota Celsior. The Celsior started in 89 and the LS400 in 90 but the Celsior was stopped in 93 i think. The celsior actually got more luxury items back in the day.... Quote
lappy Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 oooh nice celsior oh and the KE10 a bit of work and it should look nice :lock_folder: Quote
mattress Posted August 3, 2006 Author Report Posted August 3, 2006 Thanks lappy. Just gotta wait for this damn rain to go away and i can start to strip the rolly. Also gotta find a few parts but i guess that will have to wait. Quote
lappy Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 yeah thats what sucks about winter our shed is full with our racecars so it is hard to do work on my project car Quote
mattress Posted September 2, 2007 Author Report Posted September 2, 2007 (edited) Here is a slight update. I've really done bugger all to the KE10 since i bought it. I've fitted new konis in the front and had the leaves reset at the back as well as fitting the discs to the front and started stripping her ready for panel and paint. I recently installed the 5 speed box only to find the tailshaft wont match up. So i hunted down an early model KE10 for $100 just for the diff. It has a few decent bits on it, though it has had a front ender. I'm told the motor runs, the doors are good as is the rear bumper, plus some good glass and a few little interior bits and pieces. It also came with 3 centreline style mags and 1 odd 1. Over the course of my searching i picked up 2 sets of brand new tail light lenses, new side blinker lenses, new front blinker lenses and new fender mirrors. I've since sold the celsior and bought an R33 skyline 4 door sedan series 2, turbo and 5 speed of course. One main reason i haven't done much to the corolla is due to the fact i've recently bought my first home. I now have a decent shed to work in as opposed to the grass i had before. The previous owner of the house was an electrician and went stupid putting 22 power points and 16 fluoros in. 1 of my friends i've had move in to help pay off the house is a spray painter so hopefully soon enough the 10 will be painted and ready to go... mattress Posted September 2, 2007 Author Report Posted September 2, 2007 Yeah it is a good deal. He is a little unmotivated but we'll get there. The other room mate is an auto electrician so i think i've done well, haha..... Quote
mattress Posted July 21, 2008 Author Report Posted July 21, 2008 Just a small update. I've started paint stripping the KE10 but i get next to no spare time so it's a slow process. Since the last update I had my daily driver 1980 323 stolen and torched so i picked up the below KE70 for $100 same as what the 323 originally cost me. I've also had to relocate the KE10 due to moving a home gym in. I've got dumb bells from 5KG to 50KG, rack, 2 benches , adjustable seat and around 400KG in plate weight. I'm not sure I'll be able to fit in the corolla now I've moved all that in, haha.... Quote
