i know cops can be funny with older cars and younger drivers, but you have to remeber that cops are people too. (some times power mad) :lolcry:

maybe he had a bad day, or he has a little dick.

i guess you'll never know.

a lot of people say "don't shit in your own nest" but that goes for cops too.

if the a cop is alone and it goes to court it is your word agianst his, so even the smallest piece of paper thats states that he is wrong is normally enough.

oh and at the start of the cops testamony, the court room is told "just because this man is a police officer that his temtamony may not be the truth"

Personaly I just think you ticked him off driving past his place and now he is out to get you or scare you.

I live behind a police officer and in close proximity to all my neighbours and a child care centre out near the RAAF base amberly. And I regulary start my jet engine up that idles at 127dB and I am yet to get a complaint. And I can max the meter out when I throttle it up and I have run it for 20min at a time when tuning. BUT I let my neighbours know ill be starting it and tell them a rough time it will be on for and to live with it for a while and they don't mind so I say you must of done something wrong and now he wants to get you back.

Also if you still at school go to the man arts department and borrow there dB meter they all have one I have borrowed it a few times so borrow one do a test and if it is legal don't worry.

Exactly, we start and tune the drag bike pretty much every wednesday (in a suburban house) and that thing would probably be as loud as a bloody jumbo jet when its idling. You basically have to gauge what your doing, your surroundings and all that sort of shit. But yeah, just don't be a prick and you'll be right.

i wouldn't say driving your car is"being a prick", some times there is the hole idea of wrong place at the wrong time

keep a stiff upper lip, jonny

i think the max legal limit for car noise is 96db at 6000rpm

I was told that technically...

A dB meter is meant to be used ONLY in an open area of atleast 100m square, of flat concrete, with the reader no less than 50cm from the exhaust outlet. It has to be set remotely, so that there is nothing for the sound to bounce off in that 100m radius (that include Mr Plod).

96dB is the max legal limit for a logbooked PRC rally car, and yep, thats at 6000rpm.

Revving up to 2k rpm is bullshit!!

The bloody police prey on people who don't know any better!! They have to be seen to be 'actively enforcing the peace', when its all just tallys and quotas...

Instead of crap like what they stopped you for, why not hunt down people who bash other people and mug them, burglars, and litle punk-asres stealing cars!! Priorities Mr Officer, Priorities!! FFS!!!

This thread has got me thinking and i was wondering can they make you test this if you don't have a Tacho??

Cause i would be impossible to guess 6000rpm and having a tacho isn't compulary.

They would just directly wire one up to your engine, its not that hard and they probably do it all the time...

i put a cannon on my car 2 weeks ago, and its coming off very soon in favour of a 2" system with extractors, as quiet as possible and a non-visible tip.

stay away from the cannons. they suck. reallly bad, esp. on a ke70

i don't know about mine...when i look at the car and i compare it to the sound its making....it just seems wrong....small cars shouldnt make such a deep note.

but then again my car is still auto until saturday

what ever happened to being stealth

Disappeared when Civics were introduced I think. Should probably go into the record books as the slowest 'performance car' ever.
