ae71neo Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 haha its still a AE86 :fuzz: i drive a 4 door sprinter every day, not the same thing :P Quote
mumblezzz Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Rust holes, flogged shocks, cut springs, cracked dash, open diff, trolley damage, bald tires, f@$ked syncros, interior rattles. Yeah AE86's rock... Quote
demuire Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Not to mention Nick planting it sideways into the dirt and popping the tyre off the rim, driving another 10 meters with the tyre off the rim, winding the window down and shouting out "That's Motorsport!" Quote
ae71neo Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 hopefully ill be there to witness it lol :P Quote
demuire Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 I umm... majorly scratched a rim and bent a lower control arm in my GSR Lancer when I went spearing off into the scenery at the end of the back straight... Note to self - make sure front end sticks... ... and then bent another one at QR when I rolled the car, rather funny having -1.5 deg camber on one side and +1 or 2 deg camber on the other side :P Quote
Teddy Posted May 27, 2004 Author Report Posted May 27, 2004 lol... its not good.. !! just a question, it may seem very silly, but its still a serious question... is it possible to flip the car on the skidpan course when u are doin speeds under about 50 or so? - because ive neva done this, i don't know what 2 expect ! Quote
demuire Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 I'd say you'd have to be trying pretty damn hard... Quote
Teddy Posted May 27, 2004 Author Report Posted May 27, 2004 ill explain it better... when u spin out on the flat with all the water and fuel on the tyres, cars etc / or when the car slides sideways out of controle, is it possible for the car just to role over because of the rather large 'loss of tracton' / angle the car is slidign at? (talkin about 40/ 50 kmh on flat ground here) ...has it ever been done b 4?, and if i drive slowly and carefully, whats the chance that it could happen to me? ..hope its sounding less like a silly question, becuase when i was in mr Ake 70's corolla @ skid pan night, when we went through the S bend bit at 40/50 or so, u could reallly feel the body role.. Quote
demuire Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 No, sliding the car will not cause it to roll over (not talking about body roll here, just talking about the car physically rolling over on it's roof). In fact, loss of traction will prevent the car from rolling. It is the sudden stop at the end (like if you hit a kerb, or a ditch, or kitty litter) that causes the car to roll... Of course, if you were driving a double decker bus or something... Quote
Teddy Posted May 27, 2004 Author Report Posted May 27, 2004 ah ok - sweet - i should be ok then lol I'm not sure what I'm lookin foward to most - me driving in pauls sprinter, or being nicks passenger on the skidpan heheheh, ehter way, its gona be 1 hell of a morning ! Quote
Teddy Posted May 27, 2004 Author Report Posted May 27, 2004 Hell Yes! it was so much like initial D - Arm controling steering, hadn break, other just try to catch up wile the feet are moving at the speed of light - no to mention seeing the tacko go from 4 to 7 very quickly in 2nd gear lol Quote
mumblezzz Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 hehe, its not that difficult. Anyone can drive like that with a bit of practice. It takes real skill to do it and be fast at the same time. Quote
ae71neo Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 Its early and still abit dark outside :P Quote
