Have had an enjoyable hour searching the forum and seeing all the old names whilst researching what is involved in putting a KE2x column into a KE15.

Should I fit the entire KE2x column/steering box, or fit the KE2x column to the KE15 steering box, if that is even possible?  Comparing side by side it is clear I would need to use the KE15 pitman arm.  The bolt pattern to the rail is extremely close although the KE2x box uses M10's rather than M8's.  No I'm not interested in converting it to R & P.

Hoping Tommys Ke 11 is still here as he featured in the most informative threads without saying how he did it. As was kickn5K.

Must be a Stuart thing.

Those shifty Stuart fellas, not divulging their secrets!!🤣

In my defence my column was changed 15yrs before I bought it and I've owned it for close to 20yrs. I asked my boss today and he can't remember exactly what he'd done.

I will have my head under the dash on Sunday removing the dead alarm so I can get it driving again. I'll take some photos with measurements if that helps.

Thanks Stu.  I think the thing is whether the KE15 steering box will bolt to the KE25 column, and whether I should bother.  I managed to pick up the brackets and so forth for a KE1x collapsible column from japan (presumably someone else had earlier bought the column) so mounting the column under the dash should be easy.

I've had a look at the parts book and it is clear that the actuating mechanism inside the steering box differs between the models.

And as the 'worm' on the steering shaft is integral, you can't put the KE2x steering shaft into the KE1x steering box.
