Hey all, I have a KE25 Corolla that I am restomodding - long story short, car is gonna be widebody (beyond the traditional SR flare type), and I want to be able to not have to run a massive spacer or high offset wheel to have flush fitment. I want the car to be functional as well, so I'm planning on getting a 6.7 AE86 GT-S rear end to put in the car - will make all the appropriate modifications to make such fit. Essentially, the widebody is being built around the width with the new rear axle. But, to match the rear, and also widen the front I wanted to do AE86 struts in the front, probably short stroke ones front and rear. (Probably won't do the coilover conversion rear with AE86 axle)

However, to match the widebody, I want to widen the track in front. What is the best way to do this, while using AE86 front suspension? Buy TE27 LCAs (adjustable ones from T3 or something) and fit the AE86 struts? Could I run AE86 LCAs and just do a full conversion to AE86 front suspension? Welding and building new suspension mounting points is not out of the question, and was the plan for the rear. I have a good fabricator and this is a dream build for me, so "extreme" solutions like cutting into the car are possible. I already have the main restomod chassis as well as an SR5 donor car I received on Friday, so I have a fair amount of ability to mess around. My plan was to do short stroke shocks all round to lower the car, and build in the new rear suspension mounting points in a way that replicate what a geometry correction piece or roll center adjuster would do.. I.e. essentially moving the suspension arm mounts so the arms are in stock geometry position but with a lowered car, without using geometry correction pieces. Please give me any critiques here and help me guide this build, I figure the suspension is probably going to be the most difficult part for me. Also, if anyone has diagrams of AE86 front/rear suspension, that would be helpful.

If it helps, car is getting a T50+4AGE transplant. Car will have a cage and a bunch of other custom bits, so if your suggestions include custom work please feel free to include it. Really trying to make this car the Alfaholics GTA-290 of the KE25/TE27 world. Let me know if you have any other questions that could help you guys help me. Thank you!

Well, I just happen to have an AE86 Sprinter on the hoist being molested for a 3SGE, so what would you like to know?

Have you come across the Mitsi Sigma LCAs for widening a KE70?

Otherwise, put up a couple of diagrams of the front suspension with some numbers and how much you want to lower it. If you move the strut outwards at the bottom for the wheel track, you should move it out at the top too, so camber-tops on coilovers might be the answer.

Don't forget you will run into steering axis problems along the way. Are you converting to rack & pinion with the 4AGE?
