I'm pretty sure that to fit a 7k in place where any other k-series motor once was, you HAVE TO modify the sump (cut and weld). Dad and i cut the 7K sump and then welded it back together. There are some other mods we did as well but i can't remember, so i will have to get back to you on that one.

By the way, my car is a ke30 with a ke55 5 speed.

thanks man, and yeah if you do manage to find out what other mods you had to do, I would love to hear about it :jamie:

is there any chance someone would be able to share what exactly they did to standard 4K engine mounts to fit a 7K into a Corolla?

The engine mounts will need to be made smaller if thats the right way to put it, the block is wider on the 7K so the distance from where they touch the blockto where they bolt to the car will need to be reduced.

The sump MAY have to be modified, not sure how much room they have under the sump.

Just to clear some things up, we didn't need to modify the oil pick up and as the actual block of the 7k is a smidge larger we add some washers on the engine mounts to get it sitting nice.

I will also try to get pics of the sump for you.

I would say they added washers under where they bolt to the car to give them sump clearance.

can't do that on a KE10,but could work on a KE35 upwards.

Yes we did do this for "extra" sump clearance as it already cleared but just. It was just to be safe lol.
