decoop Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 (edited) You could romp it in under a grand. Your obviously not worried about tuning the computer so u wont be able to run more than 4-5 pounds. So just get a turbo off an rb25 for $450, you can obviously weld so whip up a passenger side exhaust manifold and crossover pipe from the drivers side, adapt that to your current exhaust, make an intake pipe and there you have it. You wouldnt need an intercooler on such low boost, and it would sound a hell of a lot better than what i presume your gunna use which is a toyota blower. On v6's they sound like turd. And if you wanted more boost a custom tune for your standard computer would only set you back 6-800 depending on who you go to. It would be the way to go i reckon. ROLLLA Posted March 10, 2008 Author Report Posted March 10, 2008 Nah no updates yet. Still driving the car every day to work and stuff. Suprises me how reliable this thing is though. Saving up to get a proper exhaust put on soon as i still have the modified VP exhaust on. Its kinda funny with that exhaust cos it backfires loud as lol Quote
ROLLLA Posted May 17, 2008 Author Report Posted May 17, 2008 ok well i know its been a while since ive added to this thread, and i wish i didnt have to add this post but unfortunately i do...gees ive had the worst week ever grrrrr yess i had a car accident. very tricky situation as to whos fault it is but technically its pointing to me :S oh and this is what i hit yep a 2007 BMW X5 ohh and what makes it worse is i went home to make the claim with my insurance and i find out that they sent out my renewal and reminder but i never recieved it. thanks Quote
cuzzo Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 doesnt matter bout insurance anyway. the v6 thats in there isnt engineered is it? don't want to remind insurance about that if it is covered. Quote
ROLLLA Posted May 17, 2008 Author Report Posted May 17, 2008 ye i know. thats where it gets hairy. but i had ways around it. i basically have to prove its her fault. and i do have proof she was speeding. so ill see how it goes Quote
ROLLLA Posted May 17, 2008 Author Report Posted May 17, 2008 haha ye ill be needing luck after this week. Ok ill tell ya how the last few days went. Thursday i took a sicky from work cos i was tired and drcided to play with the KE30 2 door that i bought. as I'm fixing the roof lining, ive began veavering in the window rubber to put it back in place. The flathead slipped and poked me in the eye. Ended up at the eye and ear hospital and luckily i still have my eye. Went back the next day for a checkup and thats when the accident happened. ohh if ya wanna see my buildup so far with the 2 door its here http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=19795 Quote
JiP Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Dude that really sux. Doesn't look to be much damage to the beamer, tho a bumper for a beamer may cost a bit. I doubt they'd let you just repair the grill and repaint the whole bumper ey? Quote
corolla_nut Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 hey i like your console and how the stereo and heater controls are all mounted. pity you didn't go with a toyota engine of some sort to keep it all neat. cut springs worry me a bit i would have to imagine that they would make it handle a lot worse, they are soft enough when they are whole. that being said i've never had enough money to go the whole way with coilovers and suspension that has been modified properly, so i just put up with things at the height they are from factory. but thats just me. robert. Only reason why i went for the V6 was becaues its alot cheaper and alot more powerful than the 4age or whatever small 4 cyl engine i could have put in. I know well that cut springs are not the go in the handling side of things but i know for a fact that the car does handle alot better than having standard springs in it. maybe you should try it one day...... the point that you have quoted as the springs are soft at the normal height is all good if i wanted a stock granny spec look and feel to the car, but unfortunately if i had that stance with this vehicle i would have ridiculous body roll with a front end heavy vehicle. look at the end of the day we are all individuals and we like our cars how we want them. I don't go out copying other people and like to be original, even if it has its down sides. BUT you learn from your mistakes. And i tell you one thing...this car is a winner for me, not a mistake. even though i have had criticism from many. I bet 90% of people on this forum would love to have the chance at driving a 900kg car with a V6 in it. So basically i appreciate your compliments but id suggest if you don't have the knowledge and if you rely on forums to get it, then best you do the work for yourself and see the difference. Sorry I'm just a little pissed off at this whole situation and I'm a little drunk and tired. So excuse any sarcasm and spelling in this post  Quote
Palmy Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 hey bit of bugger that, hope all goes well with the insurance etc. can i ask how u hit the beamer? cause they're both front end damage.... Quote

Well i was on a busy road in melb near the city (Victoria St). Decided that there was too much traffic so indicated to turn right to take a different street. Basically it was just after an intersection (Russell St) so there was no traffic lights, just had to cross the 3 lanes of oncoming traffic. Traffic was banked up so waited til the first 2 lanes gave way. Creeped forward trying to see the 3rd lane as there was no car there yet. The nose of the car musthave been slightly poking into the 3rd lane hoping that the next car coming will see it and stop. But the lady driving in that lane was trying to chase the traffic lights at the intersection that id just past. (russell St). She was flying not lookin down at the traffic and didnt see me til the last minute. I was stationary and shit myself, not thinking to slap it in reverse. Her ABS kicked in and then BANG. So ye thats why its a tricky situation as in whos at fault, but i was stationary and she was definately speeding. So ive taken photos of the intersection and her skid marks on the road to try gather some evidence. Quote
JiP Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 Did you have a grille on it or have you already ripped it off?? Quote
