Rolla__Boy Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 Cheers Dan....I can take more pics if people want. Anything specific just ask. I have a house inspection soon so I am busily cleaning up the pig sty I have created, hence my laziness towards pics right now :P Quote
ROLLLA Posted July 24, 2006 Author Report Posted July 24, 2006 ok well i need engine mount modifying pix first, thats my maid concern, Is he running standard brakes, i see he's still got the standart master cylinder. Ummmm. Any tips u could give me on installation. Has he changed the dash so it reads the speedo and other components? Quote
--Tommo-- Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 WOW...I was thinkin of doin this a while ago to my KE20..Thought i was dreamin of the impossible..But from seeing this, i think it might actually be an excellent, cheap source of big power Quote
Beau-Jangles Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 (edited) That's awesome!. Do the wheels ever stop spinning? Put up some vids if possible would love to see a rolla mashing up the streets. Edited July 25, 2006 by Beau-Jangles Quote
ROLLLA Posted July 25, 2006 Author Report Posted July 25, 2006 cheap source of big power is exactly what i want. Cheap readily available parts aswell hehe. Plz send pix dude Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 He has no interior, it's a race car now. The engine is solid mounted at the moment, so there is no rubber engine mounts. And he bought the car with the engine in, so I have no idea how hard it is to actually put the engine in. He is getting a new body and doing it properly with a hilux diff, big front brakes and will be getting it engineered. At the moment it has standard brakes, and it stops just fine. And no the wheels NEVER stop spinning :P Quote
ROLLLA Posted July 25, 2006 Author Report Posted July 25, 2006 your mate doesnt happen 2 live in melb does he lol Quote
decoop Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 I'd say go for it man. mammoth loads of people have done it, you only have to go to springnats or easternats to see how popular this conversion is. It may very well be a boat anchor, but it would be priceless seeing the reaction of people in v8's when you leave them at the lights. Good fun and best of all, cheap to do. Quote
ROLLLA Posted July 27, 2006 Author Report Posted July 27, 2006 Again thanks so much for the positive feedback. I will definately be leaning in this direction now. And again if anyone has any pix of a VN V6 in a rolla plz post them up. Ive been told i need 2x passenger engine mounts and flip one around and put on the right. Ill also be going for a twin exhaust system 2 i think. Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 We are from Canberra, but the car came from Melbourne. Why? Do you know the guy who did it? Because he did a SHIT job Quote
Hurricane Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 it would cost me under $200, + my labour to put a vn v6 in my corolla but i wouldnt want one :y: LOL ME TOO :lolcry: Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 I suggest you try it before you knock it. You would be talkin out the other side of your face if you went for a ride in this thing Quote
irokin Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 You would be talkin out the other side of your face if you went for a ride in this thing Yea I might be after the tragic accident from going round a gentle bend in the road. :) Quote
mitch13 Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 I would love to see someone put a v6 in a rolla. Go for it mate just so everyone laughing at you shuts up! But i really wouldnt be expecting to have it as a road car. And if you do make sure everything is legal i.e engineered etc because you don't want to be paying for someones mercedes when you smash into it and your insurance wont cover it. Goodluck mate. Put some videos up as soon as its done. Quote
