col Posted March 24, 2023 Report Posted March 24, 2023 Hey Falas Anyone put electric power steering on a ke55? Have people changed out the whole rack? Just looking for options Cheers Col Quote
parrot Posted March 25, 2023 Report Posted March 25, 2023 I think the new thing is electrically assisted steering. I believe a 2005 Yaris donor from a wrecker is the go. Of course there will be more to it than just bolting it in, and you may require a rack, so it starts to get a bit complex. But have a look at that. Or put in a bigger diameter steering wheel! I jumped into my AE86 with 185 wide rubber last weekend for the first time in a long time and couldn't get over how heavy the steering was after years of super light power steering Quote
coln72 Posted March 25, 2023 Report Posted March 25, 2023 was running 235s on the front of my HZ without power steering. Maybe the younger generations aren't as tough as we were (or maybe smarter) 😉 Quote
col Posted March 25, 2023 Author Report Posted March 25, 2023 Yep cheers heaps. I'm going to look at electric steering on the column. Seems the easiest. Not fussed with normal driving but chasing it in a slide would like to be able to spin the wheel a little easier. Quote
