Teddy Posted May 14, 2004 Author Report Posted May 14, 2004 ah ok cool - how much get up and go does that have? Quote
mumblezzz Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 22-re has low down torque and umm.... low down torque. They're a low revving truck motor. The head is quite restrictive by design, but there is potential there. Not really suited to a corrolla though. Quote
Teddy Posted May 15, 2004 Author Report Posted May 15, 2004 ya, after today tho @ nicks - I'm all for the K motor :) Quote
andrew Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 ya don't need to do much to make 22re's hammer! all the ones i have seen are rockets! Quote
Super Jamie Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 R motors are the most overengineered toyota motor there is. i personally think they have HEAPS of potential, just nobody can be bothered porting the cast iron head, they're too heavy to stick in corollas and have them handle well. i'd love to see a 18R-G or 22RE modified to the same extent as something like my 4k. it would be a weapon the fastest toyota engined drag car in australia is a ke20 with an 18r-g Quote
Teddy Posted May 16, 2004 Author Report Posted May 16, 2004 ya ! Do the K motors have cast iron heads? - to be honost ive never checked what they have lol Quote
andrew Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 jamie: then wait till mine is on the road!!! my 22re will be a f%^ckin killer. i found a heap of info about them in the states and i got recipes for awesome power outputs with them! :) Quote
