22-re has low down torque and umm.... low down torque.

They're a low revving truck motor. The head is quite restrictive by design, but there is potential there. Not really suited to a corrolla though.

R motors are the most overengineered toyota motor there is. i personally think they have HEAPS of potential, just nobody can be bothered porting the cast iron head, they're too heavy to stick in corollas and have them handle well. i'd love to see a 18R-G or 22RE modified to the same extent as something like my 4k. it would be a weapon

 

the fastest toyota engined drag car in australia is a ke20 with an 18r-g

jamie: then wait till mine is on the road!!! my 22re will be a f%^ckin killer. i found a heap of info about them in the states and i got recipes for awesome power outputs with them! :)

that car wont be attending the cruize! sorry to get ya hopes up. that car will be finished in hopefully a few months :)

<------ the yella terra will be there though hopefully with the 5 speed dropped in it

Do the K motors have cast iron heads? - to be honost ive never checked what they have lol

i have a 4k in my ute and it's an alloy head......has been port & polished flow tested etc...with a 30/70 cam with twin 40mm webers....

 

i don't seem to be getting the best out of it, seems it should be giving more than what it's giving at the moment. any help would be great
