ca18rolla Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Just wondering how much these diffs can handle (hp) I pressume their are plently of centres available as well lsd 2-ways etc. Lastly what is the measurment from disc fdace to disc face. (where back of wheel touches on each side) Cheers Robbo Quote
Gilly Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 unsure of exact horse power they can handle. i think LSD centres (aftermarket) can handle some decent power, however it is the axles that are the weak point when using grippy tyres or reasonable power output. a lot of people using SR's and CA's convert to hilux diffs. ca18rolla Posted June 29, 2006 Author Report Posted June 29, 2006 Yeah i was wondering as i m planning on a Hi-ace/Hilux lsd for mine. Thought i d see what the ae86 diff was like though. I ll probably stick with a hilux then at least I know it ll will handle the power. There axles are fat as! Cheers Quote
Biggo Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 depends how you drive it, ancullen has a locked borg behind his gze and its held up fine while a mate had a locked t18 one in his 20v and it smashed the spiders (and no it wasnt his welds  ) Quote
Drift Donkey Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 i heard tarago f series was a good rear end to use but i think i will end up going hilux/hiace for my ca 86 as the s series wont do the job Quote
love ke70 Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 t series should be more than enough or... be like me and use an 71 alfa romeo diff  Quote
ca18rolla Posted July 3, 2006 Author Report Posted July 3, 2006 Yeah I don't mind what diff i use but only want to do it once and need something to handle around 300rwhp. We used a standard locked diff in my mates ke7o (220rwhp) and it started turning the splines on the axles though the locked center held. Quote
