Hurricane Posted October 22, 2006 Author Report Posted October 22, 2006 we did a lil more work on the crank today after i got back home, pretty much finished all the smoothin with the flap disc on the grinder and then started to get it ready for polishing with the die grinder. and MMMM what would this contraption be handing off the side of the motor? <_< oh and dis was the results of the last time the turbo was in action :) injoy and lots more to come Quote

Hurricane Posted October 23, 2006 Author Report Posted October 23, 2006 sick got the injection today off a 2TG, so as soon as i get the N/A motor finished then i can save for a megasquirt ecu and other stuff and the turbo will be on the way :D Retrospekt - ive still got a mtor in that car and as it is with the 3t in it and as low as it is now with stocko cut springs and no sway bar in it (cos it no longer fit) it was out runing my mates r33 down the great ocean road, but i was pushin the lil rolla to the limit was gettin a lil hair at points, EG side ways at over 100 next to rails, that have cliffs behind them :) Quote

Hurricane Posted October 26, 2006 Author Report Posted October 26, 2006 yeah the cotum springs are the best :) i did to some more smoothing, started the con rods with a elec die gringer, i got over polighin the crank so i stoped, but it is still very very smooth so i think that it will do, like i don't really see polighing it to a shine will heap any more that what it is now:rolleyes: and i want the motor back together so i can start on the turbo one:) Quote

Hurricane Posted November 5, 2006 Author Report Posted November 5, 2006 ok well ive been goin nuts dis weekend, i had no money are fuel cos i sent the bottom end of to get balanced, linidhed, and machined, but before it get completly finishe dthe guys in there at the shop said to finish of the rods, so i still got them and pretty much polished them, just had a lil trouble getting to some spots but its not to bad really, i will finish plishing them later cos i have to take it back tomorrow to get the balancing done :jamie: the motor is getting there thow :jamie: Quote
Hurricane Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 will i started to put it back together cos i got all the bottom end back today, its a lil lightned full balanced, linished crak, polished crank and rods, lighten flywheel, and fully blueprinted ;) I forget what the stocko flywheel weight was but the new one is now 8.6kg Also painted the block and cheaked the oil pump out and cleaned out all the engine oil gallerys to. Also here is the balance sheet just incase some one wants to look. Also i was goin to start to put the whole block back together but i found out that i didnt get/reseave some bottom end bearings, the thrust ones so i will have to get some tomorrow. Quote
Hurricane Posted November 14, 2006 Author Report Posted November 14, 2006 ok well ive been upto a lil bit this week and didnt get time to post, ive got the bottom end all together now, and the head is goin back together, most things are painted and the old motor is out of the car Went to dads mates place and did a lil bead blasting to make is alot easyer to paint stuff. Block together and painted. My bro polished the vavles for me, thanks nick lookin shiny and smooth;) Vavle springs back in. Painted the rocker cover in black krinckle paint, look alot better in the pis thow and look at all that empty space in there, so much room for big things oh and got a pic of the stock flywheel now. Before = After = 8.6Kg well thats it for now, looks like it might be running on the weekend now? might put the bat in the boot and change some other studd before the motor goes in. Quote

Hurricane Posted November 18, 2006 Author Report Posted November 18, 2006 well the thing is running people, it seems to go not to bad but could/would like to get more but for what it is it not to bad:D i am still running the stocko carby for now till i get the twin 40mm sidedraughts up and running, might be dis week if i get my ass into gear? also the origianl air cleaner choked the engine way to much so i made up a quick lil pod adaption out of some 2 1/2'', not my best welds but it holds and doesnt leak. ALSO NOTE THE SIL SCRAPIN 1200 UTE IN THE BACK, YES IT SITS ON ITS RAILS;) motor is goin on its first run down the GOR sunday morrning so will see what it is like? Quote
