ca18rolla Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Man sounds like youre doin it tough with the wiring, and pulling the motor out a whole lot, good to see youre still keen. The engine bay looks real nice, kind of like that commo colour that was all the talk a few years ago. mmm race seats, one day.............. :y: Keep us informed man.Ca18rolla nice time :) you should be going faster though, what tramp setup do you have, caltrac? I know youre running drag radials, what mph did you run? NA i just drove out yesterday on a pair of 16' tyres that came standard on a '04 falcon that have been sitting at a mates shed for over a year or two. Still the same as it was before the hilux diff which was just reset and a tramp leaf added. With slicks and slappers or caltracs i wpold wanna see a 11.80 atleast. Thinkin big auto and transbrake maybe got to weigh up weither or not to spend more money or not? Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 In that case the time is pretty impressive, i was gonna do the auto, but run out of time so i had to put a 5 speed back in. its hard to decide on a stall speed, also c4 vs tri, Tri will suit the nissan bellhousing better, but c4 is better box. ca18rolla Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 yeah i think it had more in it too untill the box shit the bed. I m at this stage going to put the CA box in and try and sell it off while it still only has around 3000km on the rebuild. I really wanna sell it and put into real estate. Cars suck fun but such a burden on the back pocket!!!! Quote
pozman Posted April 27, 2007 Author Report Posted April 27, 2007 (edited) update; got it going, wiring problem was nothing, just forgot to plug the engine bay loom in after i took it out to paint the bay :jamie: and the fuel leak was because there was to much pressure built up in the return line, how does this happen, buy putting fuel lines on the wrong way  just a few of the silly things that can happen when you f@$k around with cars. pozman Posted June 27, 2007 Author Report Posted June 27, 2007 weel its still not finished, money is becoming a real problem, just bought a new car so been spending too much on that :P but it will be putting more effort into the rolla to get it done engine is in and running, need to get brakes and exhuast done, and then tail shaft and radiator sprayed the rocker covers and nearly finished the boot trims Quote
Timmeh Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 i can't wait to see the end result of this, should be radddd. "just bought a new car so been spending too much on that" what car did you get? Quote
pozman Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 well i did have a fj40 land cruiser, but wrote it off about two weeks ago. not fun, will give you all the goss when everything is worked out. but yes the money thing is starting to shit me, i might have to start selling my body or something :) Quote
pozman Posted July 24, 2007 Author Report Posted July 24, 2007 been fiddling around out on the car over the last few days, while the wheather has been nice. and got it stared :P and half idling, haven't had a chance to get it warm, as the exhaust only goes to the 4 into 2 part of the extractors, :D its so freaking loud, and don't want to piss the neighbours anymore than i already have :P so i think the next step is to send it of the the exhaust shop Quote
pozman Posted July 24, 2007 Author Report Posted July 24, 2007 (edited) heres a nice pic of the bay with the sun on it, gives a nice shot of the colour love the yellow guards :D also, k+h exhaust paint is shit, well atleast the can i got is, car was running for a bout five minutes bearly off idle, and already it blistering and smoking. and it not as if there were any back pressure for the heat to build up the pipes are lucky if there a foot long, ie still short enough to see flames coming out of them :P Edited July 24, 2007 by pozman Quote
flat out Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 same problem happend to me mate, mines starting to rust aswell! Quote
pozman Posted August 28, 2007 Author Report Posted August 28, 2007 hey guys, finally got the car to the exhaust and brake place :D makes me happy exhaust will be getting built, brakes need to be plumbed up, from the master to the lines then the frount lines to the calipers. also will be plumbing up the clutch master to the slave. can't wait to get it back, might rtake the radiator in within the next few days, get the outlets moved. one thing that is worrying me is how low the engine seems to be sitting. looks like the mounts have saged a bit, either that or i've not got them in the right spots, meaning that the engine only sits about 3mm off the crossmember. think it will only take a slightly longer rubber mount to lift it up on the mounts. might wait until i take it to the engineers and see what they say about it, also gives them something to bitch about. pozman Posted November 8, 2007 Author Report Posted November 8, 2007 finally got some time to work on the rolla again its back from the exhaust place, where i got extractor modified, exhaust done, brakes plumbed and the clutch plumb exhaust sounds great, can't wait to hear it under labour 8| had some problems with the way i set up the clutch, tryed to go the easy way out, only to end in tears, the whole ting i made bent, so tryed it again only to bend under the weight again, turns out its very heavy. so had to paull the dash out and set it up properly, cut the old pedle mount out so i could move the pivit point high and futher towards the passanger side of the car so that the master lines up properly, should all work out alright, going to be a apin in the ass to weld it in again tho, but atleast it will be done properly i suppose hopefully ill have it on the road for the gor cruise o9n the aussy day weekend (crosses fingers) Quote
dfunkt Posted November 9, 2007 Report Posted November 9, 2007 hopefully ill have it on the road for the gor cruise o9n the aussy day weekend (crosses fingers) i don't believe there's room for "hopefullly" in that sentence. nor are the "crosses fingers" necessary  ill have it on the road for the gor cruise o9n the aussy day weekend now doesn't that look much better 8| Quote
