Richard Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 hey dude what did you do with the wiring? did u do it urself? or did u send it to the auto elecs? and did u just use the same wiring harness as the silvia? and also what about the computer standard or aftermarket? can u use the standard one? and with the speedo what mods did u do to run the rolla one? cheers mate. pozman Posted February 10, 2007 Author Report Posted February 10, 2007 did wiring myself, it wasn't easy, spent many a night disiphering the loom, as the engine only came with the engine looms, the silvia links the two sides of the engines electornics through the cars main loom and i dind have this, so had to link the two sides together. pain in the ass, had to put i the engine relays aswell. using standard computer as it wont pass engineer certificate with an aftermarket one, stupid emission laws, i have an Emanage that is going on it when it gets the engineers. haven't sorted the speedo yet, but "oh what a nissan feeling" and "ca18rolla" have informed me that a speedo sender out of a ca20 pintara or a L20 bluebird will convert it back to cable speedo, therefore, no more problems. pozman Posted March 12, 2007 Author Report Posted March 12, 2007 thoght it might be time for a bit of an update, has been a while. gt the engine mounts welded finally, so the engine is all ready to go back in. stipped everything out of the bay, so i could prep it for the new paint, so that has all been preped for spaying, just got to wait for a nice day when my mates got some time so we can spray. then ill be putting all the stuff back in and the engine can go in for the last time, yeehaa Quote

Where the rod goes from the booster into the master cyl you need to make the depth of the new commo cyl one the same as the old rola one. This will affect your pedal feel. i did this by glueing a peice of metal in there. The difference is about 5mm from memory. :D Quote

pozman Posted April 15, 2007 Author Report Posted April 15, 2007 sorry for no updates lately been away, not sure what the part number is but will find out asap for you. got the bay sprayed and the engine back in, tryed to start it and there is a wire that ive missed somewhere and the ecu aint working quite right cos of it , so have to go thru some of that again, ill find it. also fuond that there is a small fuel leak in the back of the engine, so i must have smaked a pipe when i was pulling the engine out last time, will be a pain to fix. other than that it will be sent to get tail shaft made soon :) i bought some new black carpet so i could piss the old poo brown off :y: thats in and i got a race bucket for the driverside, will get the passager soon, there very similar to gtr seats, sorry no pics yet, will post asap Quote

The engine bay looks real nice, kind of like that commo colour that was all the talk a few years ago. mmm race seats, one day.............. :y: Keep us informed man. Ca18rolla nice time :) you should be going faster though, what tramp setup do you have, caltrac? I know youre running drag radials, what mph did you run? Quote
