pozman Posted October 28, 2006 Author Report Posted October 28, 2006 (edited) well i pulled the 3t out the other day, so i've finally started. encountered my first problem, the engine crane i bough is to big to fit under the car ( i had to lift the frount end up and got my cousin to push the crane under) so i'll have to make some small ramps to put the car on then put the stand under. going for my first test/have a look at how big the head ache will be test, with the ca18 tonight after work. deadline is set for australia day weekend too, has to be on the road buy then, so have just under three months of fun Edited October 28, 2006 by pozman Quote

pozman Posted October 28, 2006 Author Report Posted October 28, 2006 (edited) well it s done only kidding this is the test fit, mounts aren't too far wrong, only have to drop two inches and move maybe inch and a half to the passenger side Edited October 29, 2006 by pozman Quote
pozman Posted October 30, 2006 Author Report Posted October 30, 2006 pulled the engine out to day so that i could work on the engine mounts got the drivers side tacked in where i want it (basically put it in the same spot as the pic of ca18rolla's mount that he sent me-thanks) but i cut the passegers side one to the size i need it and now my engine mounts rubber bit fouls on the cross member :) so now ill have to try and find a rubber mount thats a fair bit smaller so it wont touch the cross member but ther than that it all going good :) Quote
pozman Posted October 30, 2006 Author Report Posted October 30, 2006 also, has any one got any ideas on what fuel pump set up i should use i'm thinking of going for a surge tank but have no idea what pumps to use Quote
ca18rolla Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 MAte i m using a Bosch fuel pump same as a Vl turbo commodore pump. it seems fine and making 205rwhp. It is up to the task but i get fuel surge when cornering hard on the street. I am going to use the vl pump as a lift to the surge tank and a bosch 044 pump to the motor, To stop the surge and ensure enough fuel n high boost. I have upgraded to steel buddy tube (5/8') from the pump to the motor as the old ones are to small. Remember rubber line is illegal and a massive danger. I will let you know if the pump is big enough when i smash some more boost in on saturday and its on the dyno. Quote
ca18rolla Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 i used escort mounts but they flexed too much so now i am using a round range rover mount. Quote
pozman Posted November 1, 2006 Author Report Posted November 1, 2006 (edited) i used escort mounts but they flexed too much so now i am using a round range rover mount. oh my god thats gold, i just got one mount from work yesterday, and the other comes on friday :jamie: yeah running a surge tank for sure, i was thinking of going for the vl pump, so should be fine for my nasp, for now anyway :jamie: Edited November 1, 2006 by pozman Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 (edited) Personally i wouldnt waste my money on a VL pump that "may" keep up later. Just buy an 044 straight up and then you will always know that it is not the problem. For the extra 100 bucks its worth the peace of mind. Edited November 1, 2006 by oh what a nissan feeling! Quote
pozman Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Posted November 2, 2006 yeah your probably right, ill have to get some prices and think about that one Quote

You want a pump that can comfortably outflow your injectors. Quote
