oh what a nissan feeling! Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 Or a bluebird sender, off an old L20 powered beast fits too ;) Quote
pozman Posted July 4, 2006 Author Report Posted July 4, 2006 i'll be using standard dash now i think, because i'm using the celica box, its to much crap to deal with electronic stuff in the CA speedo Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 celica box is definately a good idea. I think what ca18rola was trying to say about the speedo is that if put an old sender in the new box you can change back to a cable and your stocko rola cable will screw straight on, meaning you retain a standard dash and cable. This really doesnt matter to you anymore though i guess cos you have decided to go with the toyota box. Quote
pozman Posted July 5, 2006 Author Report Posted July 5, 2006 not sure what i'm doing with boxes anymore, spoke to the bloke that is rebuilding my box, sadly it is r##ted six ways to sunday  Quote
pozman Posted July 6, 2006 Author Report Posted July 6, 2006 (edited) igot the ca18 last night, it only got 12800-km on the clock, hich is cool, but you can never be sure with those damn japs swapin dashes, but i saw it driving and it goes all right. Â due to complacations with the celica box i think I'm going to use the silvia box, when you say the hole has to moved 5 inches back do you mean it has to made 5 inchs longer Edited July 8, 2006 by pozman Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 (edited) yeh, what he said. If you mount your motor in the correct position you will find that this new hole lands right on top of the seat rail that goes across your floor :hmm: don't worry about it yet though, just get a box and start to fit the motor. irokin Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 I thought there was an RB20 box that was shorter.... Quote
pozman Posted July 9, 2006 Author Report Posted July 9, 2006 yeah got the box, exhaust an also the tail shaft last night, it's all coming along prity quickly for someone thats on student ceterlink payments. Quote
ca18rolla Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Yeah get in in and see where the shifter ends up mine needed a new hole 5' further back. Plate the old one while the box is out. Quiter and adds a little strength back to the tunnel. I mounted my motor as far back as possible to try and help the car handle as well as possible. Keep us up dated. Quote
pozman Posted July 10, 2006 Author Report Posted July 10, 2006 is it possible for to get a photo of the new shifter hole (or just the carpeted tunnel) and under the car at the gearbox cross member,  i've got photos and info of all the engine stuff everone leaves out the gear box part  this would help me a great deal Quote
ca18rolla Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 Yeah mate i ll try in the next couple of days to get down the workshop and get some pics for you. My shifter comes through right at the back of the standard centre console. Quote
