love ke70 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 but for the hassle it isnt worth it and you need all the pulleys off the front of the motor and i believe the 4age run a stronger block and better internals don't they? Quote

Apparently they are the same internals as the series 1 (blue & black top) 4AGE. Quote
Dave71 Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 don't listen to what most people say about the 4ac.... mostly they say stuff becuase there is an easily available alternative... and they arent weak, 20psi and it still didnt explode Quote
love ke70 Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 series one being the weak 3 rib block opposed to the stronger 7 rib block yes? Quote
Trev Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 series one being the weak 3 rib block opposed to the stronger 7 rib block yes? They arent weak they just arent as strong as the 7 rib. Quote
Dan Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 133% improvement in strength there, theoretically. Go the GZE. Bloody sweet engines, dan says! Quote
Biggo Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 4ac is nowhere near the class of a bigport GE. Beleive me ive own 3 of the shitters and they can't breathe for cheese cake! Just 4agze it :ninja: Quote

rjenman Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 you cannot kill a K motor, even when theyre rooted they still go. i CANNOT believe how much crap my old 4K went through and how bad it was running by the time i got rid of it, and the fact that it still moved the car! so is the general concensus that a 4AC unreliable? or just unreliable in comparison to a K motor...? Quote
Mr Hardware Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Everything is unreliable in comparison to a K motor Quote
r3s Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 i don't know how you could come to the conclusion that a 4a-c engine is unreliable , i've got 1 sitting at my mum and dads, have been paddock bashing it for 6 months and haven't had to change a thing on the engine in that time, the thing just keeps on going ( much like the 4k ke70 that was used before it ) . a reco'd 4a-c has alright power for the fuel economy from my experience, you may disagree.
