NoPsi Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 Thermostat hadn't even crossed my mind. I am just happy that the damn thing doesn't overheat. Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted June 9, 2006 Author Report Posted June 9, 2006 That's 40.5 for us Aussies...DAMN hot Quote
love ke70 Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 with the thermostat thing, my car will on a cold morning, around 10* or so, drive for 15 minutes and wont see operating temps, but if its like 15 or 20, will warm up in just a few minutes and sit right where it should be for however long I'm driving. which is why i don't think the thermostat is stuck, but its weird it doesnt warm up when it real cold :ninja: Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted June 9, 2006 Author Report Posted June 9, 2006 Yes, the hotter the thermostat, the hotter the water has to get for it to open, so if u get a really cold one, the water will only heat to that colder temp before the thermostat opens Quote
love ke70 Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 hrmm, just get the standard one, which opens at 85* or whatever. theyre fairly standard across toyotas. there is no reason to run your car hotter than what toyota designed it to Quote
MissSydneyCruising Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 2 months ago I took a long drive up north 1 hour north west of newcastle. took 3 hours to get there in my sera, with the heater pumping of course. I got there, and there was ice covering my bonnet, after driving for 3 hours. I was mighty impressed. She always starts first go though. Now the heater on the charade doesn't work, which I might look into the thermostat thingo  Quote
JiP Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 (edited) If its a 3 cylinder Charade i'd understand. ** ** Edited June 13, 2006 by JiP_01 Quote
