Corolla Test Pilot Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 I'm baaack... Anyway, whats the go with this bullshit cold weather? I'm originally a Bundabergher, so can you imagine my horror when I wake up at 6am to go to uni, and my car has f@$king ice on it!!! Like no shit: lumps of frozen H2O encrusting my car!!! And then the bloody thing wouldn't start, I had to resort to stealing my granny's XD (eeewww....*shudders*). It was cranking at maybe 40rpm, oil mustve been like treacle. Spose that happens when youre car lives on the street. Quote
Clown Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Took the mr2 to the misses house (well was misses at the time) a while back. Parked it outside and when i left in the morning the cooler was frosty as, damn she was nuts on the way home. Quote
NoPsi Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 My guage doesn't move off 'C' on a spirited 30 min drive at 5 in the morning and I can see my breath in the car. Grr no bloody heater. Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Posted June 7, 2006 My heater is so damn hot in my 35 that I usually have to turn it off and wind the window down...I love it...it's so so so good in Canberra winters Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 if i turn daisy's heater on, it will fog up the windows......so i don't use it Quote
JiP Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 :faq: -Thats what sucks about your work being 2 mins down the rd. My windscreen only starts to defog when I pull into the driveway at work. :D Oh not looking forward to starting wprk at 3:30 tomorrow. :P Quote
st.nick Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 (edited) Another way to tell if its cold... Thanks Jessica Simpson. Edited June 7, 2006 by st.nick Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Posted June 7, 2006 I've found that a good way to get your engine temp up is to bolt a SC on it :faq: Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 you guys that can drive 30mins and still not have a working heater prob need to change ya thermostats. stuck open is a common problem for the 4age in the ae82/ae92s. there is no doubt if you can drive than long and not have it warme dup that you have a problem Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted June 8, 2006 Author Report Posted June 8, 2006 Thermostats are so easy to change, and so so often overlooked as a heating issue. I've had brand new thermostats that didn't open though, which you don't expect and don't even think to look to the thermostat to still be a problem. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 turbos are a good way to warm your 4k up too!! :P except they love the cold too!! other night went out for a bit of a run, gate pressure was peaking about 9psi and running about 7, on the switch I was spiking 12psi and running 10-11!!! :D noticed it was detonating a little on 11psi, gotta love those death rattles :faq: I can't smoke a whole ciggy on the way to work, espeacially early in the morning, let alone have the van get up to temp! :( Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted June 8, 2006 Author Report Posted June 8, 2006 The other solution is to walk to work if it's so close...then you don't have to worry about your heater Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 fug that!!! tassie is probably 1 of the few places that actually gets colder than canberra!! :faq: Quote
