muller Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 (edited) I'll come out and see you race at the saleyards cam, I think we can make that a definate plan for sunday at calder..... I'll tell everyone who passes my msn list and pm the people who don't post a reply between now and then to let them know. Date: Sunday September 17th Location: Calder Park Raceway - Round 5 - Victorian Motor Racing Championship Time: ??? We just need a time. Option 1. Meet up at a pre-determined BBQ location, have lunch, chat and whatever and then cruise down to calder to watch some drag action and then we just all leave from there. Option 2. Meet up at calder to watch some drags morning time and then cruise to a BBQ then leave from there whenever. Option 3. We go to the drags in the morning then break for a couple of houres during a crap class and go get some food then we could probably go back and watch the rest if wanted unless theres no passouts. At least we have a firm date now so the people who keep asking when it will be have an answer :D Edited August 30, 2006 by muller Quote
coln72 Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 sorry guys no can do - next bub will be 12 days old by then so I don't think it would be interested in the drags........ Quote
TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 I have been looking around for a BBQ location. Probably the best place to have it would be Brimbank Park, its easy to find as you can get to it via freeways and its not too far from Calder, yet far enough to make a cruise. Brimbank park is just off Keilor Park Drive in Keilor, will get a map up soon... Either that or somewhere along bell street so we are more central... But finding a good park might be a hassle, anyone know of a better park etc? Any other ideas? Muller? Also, I was thinking that if we want to get the most out of the day we should probably have a BBQ brunch, around 10am or so, thatway we can see more of the racing as we would only have a couple of hours to watch if we have a BBQ lunch. Just somthing to think about anyway! Should this be moved to its own thread now?? Colin, theres always next time! Enjoy the bub! J. Quote
muller Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 (edited) sorry guys no can do - next bub will be 12 days old by then so I don't think it would be interested in the drags........ Start em young :D Yeah colin, next time. Its still our next event so i don't think we have to change where it is. So your thinking option 3 but make it a early bbq and watch the drags for rest of the day? Say 10:30am meet at Brimbank Park, stay till 12 or so then go to drags. Is 4 hours long enough to see at the drags or would people like longer or shorter? I would like some more imput from the other people who plan on attending as well. coln72 Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 had my 11month old out watching my HPV team train, so I'm getting him used to things going fast around a track. For those of you that don't know what a HPV is here is the one we raced last year. Quote

RollaGurl Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 for the meeting point for calder, i vote for bell st maccas so we can show up those pos VLs/skylines/geminis jk! MRMOPARMAN, you wont be showing any VL's or skylines or gemis a thing at 10am! they are all in bed or changing their tires after the night before!!! it would have made a nice change however, usually anything non VL or at least non commodore is the odd one out.........
