bradden Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 hello all, I have a question from my brother he wants to know if spaces to allow the wearing of fwd offset mags are legal,or if there is a way of making them legal. As the selection of mags is small for his car.Oh yeah he owns a ke55 coupe. So if anyone here has an answer and or a way around this, your help would be appreciated. thanks all
Rolla__Boy Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 (edited) They are called "Spacers" and in short...No they are not legal at all... And KE55 corolla's have a MASSIVE selection of mag wheels available Edited May 23, 2006 by Rolla__Boy
Redwarf Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Slide on spacers are not, bolt on spacers are, AFAIK in Qld.... Give Qld Transport a yell..
Jono Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 an engineer told my mate that some spacers will pass as long as there is no play at all. NSW
love ke70 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 ive heard bolt on spacers are legal if you get them engineered. sounds like your brother is looking at wanky wheels. need some nice dish jap spec rims man :lmao:
Clown Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Biancas mr2 had slide on spacers, passed RWC in vic, mind you the guy passed the car even though we said the brakes didn't work, so yeah. As far as i know, they are illegal.
bradden Posted May 24, 2006 Author Report Posted May 24, 2006 ROLLA BOY Its nothing scientific that I can get alot of mags for a ke55 most people no that but, if you had read what i said better then you would have worked out I'm talking about offset. The offset is what is reducing my selection of rims hence me asking about SPACERS.Thanks for the information everyone and thanks for the spell check rolla boy.
Rolla__Boy Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 Just for your own information...I have been driving my corolla for 8 years now...and have had about 20 different sets of mags on it. And I am quite well aware of what you were saying, and you are still wrong...MILLIONS of set of mags are the right offset for a KE55 corolla....a KE55 corolla would just about have to have the widest selection of f@$kin wheels on the planet. Just about any old Nissan factory mags will be the right offset, there are constantly about 4 or 5 different sets of mags for sale on this site to suit a KE55 offset. And all the hundreds of other KE55 owners on this site seem to have no troubles at all finding a wide selection of mags to suit....Xany's car has had 3 different sets of mags on it alone in the last few months. He obviously finds it easy....just like the rest of us, so I suggest you look a bit harder.
Xany Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 (edited) Ok, your maxium + offset for a ke55 corolla is around 20 - 25 i'm pretty sure...i had 15 inch performance mags on mine not so long ago and they fitted perfectly, along with the jelly beans and the current set i have on it which are old soarer 15x6 mags (i havent got proper pics as yet). What kinda design wheels are you after?....i may be able to point you in the right direction.... Also.....i'm almost certain that if you are in QLD that you can have BOLT ON spacers to rectify the FWD mag offset. Edited May 24, 2006 by Xany
bradden Posted May 25, 2006 Author Report Posted May 25, 2006 rollaboy hes after new mags not factory nissan mags and has been to many of tyre outlets to find a set of mags to fit LEGALLY. every one tells him that yes theres shit loads of rims to fit but LEGALLY there is basicly only superlites, spitfires, etc if you know of a place that sells mags then instead of telling me your whole life story share, otherwise stick your two cents worth of sarcazim up your ass....... thank you and have a lovely day
