Paul Posted August 13, 2006 Author Report Posted August 13, 2006 Has been for ages:P I put those tyres on a while back now, it's something like 10% out, just gotta do the quick maths all the time. A lot easier than when I had my AP5 Valiant. Quick maths = "60 sign" *ummmm "36":laff: Quote
Paul Posted August 15, 2006 Author Report Posted August 15, 2006 Stuffed around with the good headlight which came off my project car, as it is just an unused extra part. Removed the lens to reveal the 'guts' (excuse over-technicallitynesssss):laff: Painted the surround black Finished product comparison...does it look better? Will probably do the other side and put them in. Quote
Des Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 does it look better? dam straight it does :y: Quote
Paul Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 You can kill a 4A-C :P I never thought it was possible but the impossible has happened. I never really took it over 6,000 RPM often and have had the car for the last 70,000 KMS. Oh and I've put oil in it twice (in the time I've owned it) just coz the red light on the dash kept bugging me :D Well it was a test which came to an end earlier than expected. Now for what to do ;) I've got a good 4A-C which is waiting to go in (the one out of my project car) and I figure I may as well paint the engine bay while it is empty... ...the body can wait just have to do the bay A.S.A.P so I can put motor in & get mobile again. Wanting to paint the whole car soon and I'm undecided on colour. But gotta decide quick because i want it up and running again within the next couple of weeks, so paint needs to be purchased soon. Colour Suggestions??? Quote
Viktor Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Black Black! wait no.. Green Green! Quote
Paul Posted November 11, 2006 Author Report Posted November 11, 2006 I just spent $350 at the paint shop (just got back). Bought 4 litres of undercoat, 4 litres of colour, 4 litres of clear and a 20 litre thinners container. This is the colour Quote
Paul Posted November 11, 2006 Author Report Posted November 11, 2006 Some work, slowly getting there... Removal of battery reveals, well, a present for me. Got Rust? Will cut up a new section to replace this and weld it in, will be my first welding experience. Also considering just keeping the car off the road for a few weeks and completely re-painting it as opposed to just doing the engine bay. Quote
Paul Posted November 11, 2006 Author Report Posted November 11, 2006 Did a chop (bit darker than it will be and not metallic but you get the gist) Also did this basic replacement yesterday, changed the crusty old brown windscreen washer hose with new stuff. Crusty old... Pretty clear new... That's all for now. Quote
TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 Nice work Paul, and very impressive on killing a 4ac! The new colour should come up a treat, can't wait to see it at a meet in the future. And if you need a hand at all I will gladly assist when available! Jarrad Quote
Paul Posted November 12, 2006 Author Report Posted November 12, 2006 Gave the windscreen washer bottle and radiator over flow bottles a clean. Sprayed degreaser in, added small rocks and rice (yeah that's right i said rice) and a bit of water to shake around etc...you get the drift. About as clean as it can come up I think. Quote
JiP Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 Which side has been cleaned the one on the left or right?? Quote
Paul Posted November 13, 2006 Author Report Posted November 13, 2006 Both but the left one was practically brown before. Quote
JiP Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 A while back by mum had some sort of bleech that was safe to use of food plastics. She bleeched all her yellowing Tupperware. They came out white as. Quote
Paul Posted November 13, 2006 Author Report Posted November 13, 2006 I bought a space saver a few weeks ago, so that i can have a flat board in the boot when I deck it out. Test fitted the wheel yesterday while i was swapping the 13's onto it (putting the crappy wheels on so I don't have to worry so much about overspray) Fits on the front:D And the back:D And this afternoons progress... Got a few little bits to strip from the bay now and then the prepping for paint begins. Quote
