Taz_Rx Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 I love that combo...I like seeing an old Brumby burble past as all good WRX engines should Heres a question. straight 4 cylinder engines running on 3 pots sound like a subaru boxer. what does a boxer sound like running on 3 pots!?? :D :) Quote

The old 20v AE82... :D Not quick in the grand scheme of things but its fun and enjoyable to drive! I know a guy with a r32 GTR who took a spin in my old AE82 twinky and he got out with a grin from ear to ear! He loved it and this is after using his GTR as a daily driver! :P Quote
Clown Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 theres a brumby in here with ej20t conversion, plates give it away though "WRX***" Quote
Mr Hardware Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 Well, sad but true, the fastest car i have 'owned' is my poor old KE55 stock as a rock. The fastest car i have 'had' ie work provided for me as part of pay (so essentially i paid for it) was a 1993 ED Ford Falcon on gas (ex cab). This thing was a freak of nature. Would spin the rears up to 60kmh in the dry and do 500klms on $30 back in the day. Quote
st.nick Posted May 19, 2006 Report Posted May 19, 2006 On the Brumby topic... sorry guys. Anyone else heard/or can quantify the rumour than an earlier-than-brumby-spec ute that got a turbo'd engine slammmed in it went to a burnout comp, and did crazy-fast 4wd donuts til the engine broke.... Then the driver got out and spewwed from spinning round so quickly?? I heard it a few years ago. Quote
Raven Posted May 19, 2006 Author Report Posted May 19, 2006 (edited) Getting a little off-topic guys..... lets get back on track shall we? :D Edited May 19, 2006 by AE35 Quote

I had it on video, it was a red 1 it wast the full video so i didnt see him spew or the engine blow but it was going around on the spot very fast. Quote

ke30corolla.coupe Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 I just came across this thread and thought id put my fastest car up its a 1993 model vr berlina fully optioned v6 auto looked stock but was far from it. modifications include 185 kw v6 worked cam heads etc sounded like an 8 built by speed pro in frankston t700 stage 2 shift kit corvette piston heavy duty convertor (done chirpys every time it hit 2nd gear 5 lt IRS LSD dba slotted disc rotors all round chiptorque chip and no rev limiter on car genie extractors and full 2 1/2'' mandrel bend exaust going into twin 3 1/2'' chrome dump tips cold air intake and k+n flat panel filter lowered lovells springs pioneer deh5850 headunit plus amp, sub, six by nines and six inch splits 17'' vt ss alloys (not in picture) all my mods were performance orientated and not for looks, it had 12 grand spent on the mechanicals 5 grand of that was just under the hood this car used to romp v8s and be able to fill a street full of smoke without trying but sadly was stolen about four months ago not long after (no insurance) and never recovered Quote
teza40 Posted November 12, 2006 Report Posted November 12, 2006 (edited) HI 2 All, just came across this thread and yes very interesting topic for sure and it did bring back some memories for me,in adelaide back in the 1980`s i was in my twenties and my fastest car by far was my 1977 CL CHARGER with 340 small block v8,727 auto trans and 2.77 diff from a chrysler x chrysler sedan.(the blue one with graphics in my thread custom paint jobs for corolla`s) it ran a mopar performance purple cam of streetable grind, edelbrock torker 340 manifold and holley 4 barrel 600 vac sec carby. i used to visit swan reach on the murray river frequently and it is a good drive with long straight stretches of tarmac, once chased a 944 porsche (the ugly one with the jensen style back window) and kept in sight for a while, NO I DIDNT CATCH IT YET ALONE KEEP UP WITH IT...LOL. but the old charger was a humming and shaking its tits off at 190+ km/h,and yes at that age it did scare the living brown stuff out of me (valiants never did handle well at that speed the nose lifted that much you thought you would take an overseas flight). ahhhhhhh memories, oh yeah another trip was to the wagga wagga nats in 1988 i think it was (the one with the riots on the streets)a mate in his hj monaro 2 door (308,turbo 400 auto n 9 inch diff) just couldnt keep with me on the way home...lol cheers teza Edited November 12, 2006 by teza40 Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 13, 2006 Report Posted November 13, 2006 my rolla has run 17.6 with a weber being the only mod, then at tassie nats ran 17 flat on 6psi.at a guess I reckon 10psi on the switch would get about 16.5. just reminded me I wrote this!^^ well I was close........10+psi saw a 16.4 pass.
