I thought this would be a good topic to bring back some memories.

The car in question would be my TE Cortina.

250 x-flow

Some mild cam

350 Holley

Pacemaker Extractors

2.5" Sports Exhaust

4 Speed Manual

When I first got this car and took it for a test drive, it scared me and it took me a good couple of months to get used to it as well.

I sold it a couple of years back and towards the end of last year, I found the car sitting at a self-serve wrecker. It had majorly rusted sills, broken exhaust and still had the seat covers on it that i took off my sister after she sold her Euro Escort.

What car was your fastest and have you ever seen it again?

Silvia so far. Scared me at first (on standard 8psi), then I got used to it, then bumped the boost up (to 12psi) and its still scaring me... I still own it so I still see it every day.

SR20DET, GTiR T28 (330hp), fmic, other bits an pieces. Estimate about 170rwkw?? (approaching 300bhp). I just love turbos now. Such an absolute pleasure to drive. Just pulls in any gear you choose as long as the RPMs above about 2000rpm. Full boost isnt till 3600rpm at the moment (big rich spot in the tune).

Before that was the celica, wasnt exactly fast but It was a good fun car to try and make it go fast. Glowing extractors and shit like that :)

I would have to say my current Sprinter is the fastest car I have owned, yet to run it down the 1/4 but it should be well into the 9's, an example of just how fast it is, we were chasing it (a mate was driving) in a 4.8 Petrol Patrol, we were doing 180 to 190kmph, the Sprinter was pulling away like we were stopped, then it came on boost in 4th and started fish tailing down the road, with that much smoke pouring off the rear tyres I could not belive my eyes, since then we have made another 100+ rear wheel KW, and now it feels crazy fast.....600+hp into 820kg= as much fun as you can have with your clothes on.

can't wait till the new engine is in and we turn up the boost

I used to have a Datsun 180B with a L20 and a to4 turbo running 20psi boost, all that power in a crappy 180b i sold it as parts. The last car i has that went fast is my ET pulsar, had a few mods but went well, i sold it neally a year ago and have seen it in the last week.

I don't like selling my modified car, i usualy sell off the modified parts and return them back to standard as i hate this happening to someone.

Nice rx4 ^^

Apart from my 12a bridgy rx7.. my new car would take the cake for fastest.

GSR powered lancer coupe.. looks like a hairdressers car from the outside, has a hairdryer on the inside :)

forgies, bigger rods etc.. tc06 turbo, 35mm external gate.

Pity it's fwd :)

My E34 BMW is the quickest road car... Luxury, and warp-factor capability (tho I don't like doing it..)

The 323 rallycar was (apparently) clocked at about 240km/h on gravel!! I only got as far as 160km/h, but topped 200kmh down the back straight at symmons.

Acceleration was awesome, as long as it was kept on boost, and she was quicker up Barrington hillclimb than a turbo 911, and hot on the heels of a local EVO5!! I was told that the 1/4 mile for the 323 should have been a low 12!! :)

I can all but dream what a current WRC car would be like!!
