Big G Posted January 16, 2018 Report Posted January 16, 2018 So the Princess split a heater hose on the way home tonight. Its the preformed one that comes out of the thermostat housing and attaches to the solid pipe that runs behind the dizzy. Does any one know the part number and or the best place to get one in a hurry. Local to Brissy for pick up if possible. Now her shiney white engine block is covered in green coolant. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted January 16, 2018 Report Posted January 16, 2018 Gates does generic z formed hose that you can usually bend or cut and rotate and join into most any shape. Its always on the shelf at sca. Unless its a gentle bend, you can just use the straight hose, it has a natural arc to it. Quote
ke70dave Posted January 16, 2018 Report Posted January 16, 2018 Supercheap seems to have its own branded hoses on the shelf now as well as gates. Im very wary when companies come out with their own brand of stuff. Like repco branded bearings.... Quote
Big G Posted January 16, 2018 Author Report Posted January 16, 2018 Thanks boys I will hit SCA on the way home worst case I will get a bit off the roll and bend it to suit until I can track the proper one down. Fingers crossed she hasnt popped a head gasket. Quote
Clapped out Posted January 16, 2018 Report Posted January 16, 2018 if all else fails, ive got a few good ones here, cheers! Quote
Banjo Posted January 19, 2018 Report Posted January 19, 2018 Hi Graeme, Did you get that pesky coolant hose sorted OK ? Cheers Banjo Quote
Big G Posted January 19, 2018 Author Report Posted January 19, 2018 It is sorted for the moment. I got a hose at SCA that was basically a straight bit with a bend at the end. To fit a commodore I think. I chopped it down to fit and installed it. And away she went. I will now start looking for the correct one as it is astetically unpleasant to the Princess. Quote
peterd Posted January 19, 2018 Report Posted January 19, 2018 I think Mackay Hoses makes the correct ones. Quote
