KDoG Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 Hello all. I have just picked up some 15" 18 spoke mags for my corolla and the meat is 205/50R15. The ones on the back fit perfect, but as i expected the ones on the front don't even think about fitting. My friend had a KP60 Starlet and he had 14 inch 185's on the front which scraped, My question is how big can i go? has anyone put 185/15s on a KE55? Thanks Quote
cuzzo Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 i just got sum trx wheels 15" and i think there 175 they fit pretty good. Quote
Xany Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 I actually had 195/50/15's on mine at one stage.....it all depends on the offset of the wheel....at a guess, i'd be thinking the ones you have are front wheel drive offset. That means they have an offset of at least +20. You *can* get away with running spacers on the front hubs, but make sure they bolt on to the hub, not just sit in between. Quote
ScottKE1X Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 Yeah, i've got sigma turbo rims on my ke30 with 195/60/15's. Thats with king springs and 4A (bit heavier). They fit but i wouldnt be able to go any bigger thats for sure. Scott. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 its not the size of the wheels/tyres that are a problem, its the offset. I run 205's on 13's most of the time. corolla's has a +20 offset. the wheels you are trying to fit are more than likely a +38/+42 FWD offset wheel. do they hit the struts when you try and put them on the front??? KDoG Posted May 2, 2006 Author Report Posted May 2, 2006 (edited) Thanks Guys The mags i have were on a 84 Mazda 929 which is RWD. I got told by a mate to just chuck in a spacer. It looks like only the rubber pinned (the wheel don't turn) on the struts, thats why i thought its too bigger width-wise. Having a closer look the mags have 38 JJ 15" on the back of them. I am in Caboolture Brisbane, does anyone know where to get/ get someone to make some spacers around this area?. Thanks.. Edited May 2, 2006 by KDoG Quote
Jazza Posted June 30, 2006 Report Posted June 30, 2006 I recently bought 15 inch mags for my ke55 corolla, i then bought spacers bolted the spacers on then my rims fit beautifully. i got my spacers from the local bob jane t-marts they weren't to expensive. well just an idea for ya i duno Quote
irokin Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 The old "high positive offset is FWD" comment is such a bad generalisation. My silvia takes 17x9s +43 offset on the rear and 17x7.5 +38 offset on the front. The rims are most certainly not FWD rims and they do fill the guards. Also don't forget about backspacing measurement. IMO offset is less important that backspacing. A 15x6 +20 offset might fit the front of a corolla, but a 15x8 +20 offset most certainly wont. So for an offset measurement to be of any use it needs to be provided with a rim width measurement. The correct way to measure width is bead to bead not outside to outside so remember to factor a little bit of margin for this. For example my 17x9s are 9 inches wide and 17 inches diameter bead to bead. However, outside to outside theyre 10 inches wide and 18 inches diameter. Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 I have 215 40 17's all round on my KE35, and I have no issues with them touching on anything Quote

I have a set of those wheels from a Mazda and they are supposed to fit straight on.. Actually thinking of selling them.. I dunno.. should I keep them? I personally would love a set of Minilites! How about 14x7 195/65 MA61 Supra rims? +8 offset as opposed to the +20 standard for the KE55 Edited July 31, 2006 by Hiro Protagonist Quote
KJ's Rollas Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 How much for wheels like that though - and where from?.. that is the question! I will post some pix soon of my 55 with those Mazda wheels on and see what everyone thinks! Cheers KJ :-) Quote
KDoG Posted July 31, 2006 Author Report Posted July 31, 2006 those 15" mags look real smart on rolla's. Do the front mags go on??? If KJ's Rollas don't want those 14" supra mags i wouldnt mind them if you are in Brisie how much? Quote

Hiro Protagonist Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 Whats your point? How would they go for fitting? Just getting an idea before I try and do it later this week IRT all: MA61 wheels are worth about $300 for the set, people are selling them by the bucketload on Toymods Quote
