Bailey 31 Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 What's the quickest 1/4 mile time with a 3k Quote
ke70dave Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 I heard 15mins was possible, telling porkies i reckon. Quote
Morguemaus Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 Is the 15 minutes 1/4 mile run with a fully worked 3K running a nitro/supercharged dipstick, and a ported/polished chrome plated rocker cover? I did hear that if the heater fan is put into turbo-reversed forward drive setting, you could get it down to 14 minutes and 60 seconds. Food for thought. 1 Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 In all seriousness though. .... I do remember an efi turbo 3k nearly 10 years ago that supposedly ran a 12.9 Quote
peterd Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 12.9 would scare the crap out of you in a 40 year old corolla. My 4k/5k hybrid trimatic ke35 does the 1/4 in 21 seconds (measured using an app). Quote
7000rpm Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 Ive ran a 12.9 in my S14. That weighs 1240 kg sounds like more fun in a sub 800 kg Corolla! Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted July 1, 2017 Report Posted July 1, 2017 That Butler fellow from Toowoomba that now owns the Toyota Dealership had some great K powered times in the 70s, not sure on which K he used though, but he did get amazing times. Quote
maccat01 Posted July 25, 2017 Report Posted July 25, 2017 There is the legendary TOM's 3k-R engine from 1972 that reportedly produced 180+hp at 9500 rpm. Extremely rare engine however Supposedly the rolla race car they were strapped to was only 700ish kg and could do the quarter in high 11s. Ill post a link later if anybody is interested in reading about one of the rarest toyota engines produced.... Regards mac Quote
