Dyzza Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 well as the topic says, the plug in my borg-warner diff won't undo ... it just spins and spins and spins and spins, and spins some more. In either direction ... so at the moment the plug is half-tight, constantly. Which means it leaks slowly, and makes it hard if i wanna put any oil into it (running a bit low i think) ... What the hell? Is this common? Tried searchin but didn't find shizzle... Dyzza Quote
Felix Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 no idea if it is common. my old EH holden had no filler plug on the diff. you had to jack up the diff on one side, pop an axle, and pour the oil in that way. Quote
Raven Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 (edited) My B/W Diff has a filler plug in the top and a drain plug on the side under the axle housing. You could try heating up the plg to get it out.... Edited April 29, 2006 by AE35 Quote
Dyzza Posted May 3, 2006 Author Report Posted May 3, 2006 hmm i might just change the diff backing plate ... Anyone have a spare ke55 borg-warner backing plate ? :P Dyzza Quote
ancullen Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 Yep, I've got one from my old diff, plus I've got two more KE55's on the way. PM me to make an offer. Quote
frosty Posted May 16, 2006 Report Posted May 16, 2006 It sounds as if you have stripped the threads on the plug or the threads in the housing. A replacement plate would be easiest as opposed to re-cutting the threads and getting a bigger plug to suit. Quote
Dyzza Posted May 17, 2006 Author Report Posted May 17, 2006 Yep, I've got one from my old diff, plus I've got two more KE55's on the way. PM me to make an offer. yeah my man ancullen here is fixing me up :D Quote
