Hey all

I need some help to put in a 5-speed box for my ke70 corolla

I have the box and shifter and tail-shaft, But I wanted to ask (since mine stock is 4-speed)

Is there any changes I need to make (e.g. with both shifters work or must use the one that came with the 5 speed box) or is it just, drop the old, bolt in new...ish..eh

I also wanted to ask, are there any benefits of getting my distributor recurved, (so far there is a full 2 inch exhaust with extractors and 1 hotdog and the stock 'air box' had been changed to an exposed filter, forgot how to describe) Plan to put tighe 104 soon with 2x 40 DCOE webers

Speaking of, anyone know where I can get the cam done, near Dandenong (I'd prefer a place where I can drop the car off for a few days and everything is done there, Since I'm very busy, going to be working everyday from 19th December till, so far, 28th January including Christmas day and eve, New years day and eve)

I know that I will need new valve springs, so I would also like suggested place to deal with all other details to putting in the new cam/regrind

also some headwork wouldn't hurt (Port and Polish, and port matching)

Also, would anyone happen to know a nice looking steering wheel to put in (obviously I will get a BOSS kit of needed, just looking for some suggesting, pics would be cool too

Well, everyone enjoy the Christmas Season, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Cheers all

Its just a drop & swap.. Luckily Toyota kept most things the same and just slipped another gear into the tail-end housing of the gearbox, not really :"inside."

When all the other work is done, get the dizzy recurved. The guys that do it are in Melb, their name escapes me atm, and tell them what you have done to the car and what you intend to use it for.

0.4" is the usual max lift before you need new valve springs, so many cams are designed around that. Some of the guys on here are running the Tighe 104 with stock springs, its only 23thou more lift. Get the followers ground by the cam company so the cam runs on a new surface.

The head work isn't hard, you could do it yourself as an education, but otherwise it will be some racing car outfit who can do it all for you.
