Well now that my ficken oil guages have arrived (took a whole month from that ebay sell just jap :lmao:) i need to mount the t peice for the temp sensor and pressure sender.

Now my question is where might i find a hole for the t peice? Apparerntly the instruction tell me to braze it into the sump of all things! but how the heck will that meter my pressure?

I'm thinking i have to tread the sandwhich plate that all aw11 mr2's have. correct? If so will i need to mount a drain pipe out of it or what?

And yair this i my first attemt at sorting out the plroblem that is wires. Seems like electrical guages really arnt elecky after all :)

did that make sense?

Pressure sender attaches to threaded hole in block. 100kW 4AGE originally already has a pressure sender here, not sure about other 4AGE's. Not recommended to put a copper T-piece here, because vibration from engine can cause the copper to crack, and that is a bad thing. If you insist on using a T-piece, best to run an oil line from the hole to the T-piece that is secured to the body of the car, and run senders off these.

I've attached my oil pressure sender to the body (vibration can also kill these senders), with braided oil line to the hole in the block. Got a fitting brazed to the sump for temp sender.

And yes, electric gauges are electric. Obviously the senders that feed them need to actually come in contact with whatever you're measuring - in this case oil. Mechanical gauges are just that - the gauge has to come in direct contact with what you're measuring, which in this case would mean running oil lines into your dash.

Whoa, been awhile since i wrote that :monkey:

Anyway, demuire your right. All 4age 16v have the pressure sender on the block just under the exhast around the 1st/2nd cylinder. That has been replaced by yours truely.

For the Oil temp, i did a dodgy and just sourced a larger fitting to mount in the drain plug hole. This way the temp sender is thread matched to the drain plug with no need for blazing :)
