bingo Posted November 1, 2016 Report Posted November 1, 2016 Hey guys, I'm looking at purchasing some 1" lowering springs for my Te27. Kingsprings in Aus do a set for the Ke25 - can anyone confirm that they'll be the same front spring size as a USDM te27? cheers, Brian Quote
ke70dave Posted November 1, 2016 Report Posted November 1, 2016 If you can get in contact with king springs via email they should be able to tell you the ID and OD of the spring at both ends as well as the overall length. I have emailed them a few times in the past when getting custom springs made by them, quite helpful. Quote
parrot Posted November 2, 2016 Report Posted November 2, 2016 I'll check when I get home and let you know Quote
bingo Posted November 2, 2016 Author Report Posted November 2, 2016 Thanks guys, I heard back from one of the sales reps at Kingsprings: "Not familiar with a TE27 Corolla, But the same year model over here is a ke25 ( not sure if they are the same car)" So yeah, Parrot, I'd really appreciate your help with this one! parrot Posted November 3, 2016 Report Posted November 3, 2016 Sorry, down with a cold and the top nut was hella tight, even with the rattle gun. OD is 130mm Overall length uncompressed to the tip of the coil end is 28.5cm Looking at the tip of the Spring, I'm suspicious it has been cut, and the spring was also able to be moved about fairly freely when complete. You will notice the top of the Spring isn't flattened off like an OEM Spring should be. So you may want to consider the above length as satisfactory for a lowered car. Wire diameter is 12mm. I've not seen a car with this strut installed so can't give you an accurate idea of ride height. On car measurement of a KE25 Spring also looks to be 130mm OD. Hope that helps. Quote
bingo Posted November 4, 2016 Author Report Posted November 4, 2016 Parrot you're a legend - much appreciated bro. Quote
parrot Posted November 4, 2016 Report Posted November 4, 2016 No worries. Let us know how you get on. I'll need to change my springs as I'm not running cut springs in any of my cars Quote
