So I have a 79 Corolla with a K series transmission, and I had heard that the Starlet transmissions were the same. I was just wondering if an 82 Starlet transmission would fit into my car (79 Corolla). Thanks!

also if this is in the wrong section let me know

They made KP's till '84 taz.

If it's a k50 it'll bolt up to the engine, you may run into crossmember and gearstick location issues.

Thanks for the info! Do you know what sort of gearstick location issues, like will I have to move it forwards or back?

Since Your 79 Corolla is a ke30 there wont be any location issues. Same shifter location as kp6#

A wide range of corollas were made in 79` ;)

Would this work with starlet engine but corolla box? (looking at the GT engine ofc)

Are you referring to the EP71/EP82 Starlet GT? That's FWD with a completely different engine and transmission compared to what the OP was referring to (RWD and K-series)
