dysoo Posted August 17, 2016 Report Posted August 17, 2016 Alright, i have a coolant leak, and it's not a hose clamp :/ The coolant has pooled on the hose there, but it is coming from the top. I'm new to this, so any help would be appreciated, thanks :) Quote
ke70dave Posted August 17, 2016 Report Posted August 17, 2016 (edited) That thing the two hoses commect to is the valve that lets hot coolant into the cabin for your heater to work. If it's leaking out the top it means the internal seal is stuffed. For a quick fix block both lines and remove, do not join them together. Your heater wont work if you block them though. Youll have to try and track downna new valve or retro fit one from another car. Edited August 17, 2016 by ke70dave Quote
dysoo Posted August 17, 2016 Author Report Posted August 17, 2016 Alright, will do. Thanks for the help :) Where exactly should i block them? Quote
Banjo Posted August 17, 2016 Report Posted August 17, 2016 (edited) Dave is spot on there. Quite common, & to be expected, when the rubber seals in the valve/tap are old & hard. Don't settle for a second hand one, as it will probably not last long. See if you can get a new one for the KE, but if not, there are plenty of aftermarket mechanically actuated ones, that are universal. Shouldn't set you back much more than $ 20, if these ebay listings are any guide. http://www.ebay.com....valve&_osacat=0 Cheers Banjo Edited August 17, 2016 by Banjo Quote

dysoo Posted August 21, 2016 Author Report Posted August 21, 2016 Alright picked a universal heater tap up from autobarn, $30, drained coolant, chucked it in, put coolant back in, started and no leaks... yet Still have to rig up a mount for it, but should be able to do that at school. Thanks for your help :) Quote
