rolla_4 Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 My parents bought a brand spanking AE71 when I was about 5. It was so new and shiny! :P I thought it was great...... My dad had one of those cool stereos in it where you actually take the whole deck out and take it with you! :P That was my first memories of a corolla! Quote
st.nick Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 My lil KE30 2dr sedan was my first car... and I still have her!! She copped lots of abuse... Sideways, outta control in the rain around a roundabout...on my Ls.... with 3 other dudes from school in the car!! Nearly ended up on the traffic island on the exit of the roundabout. The day I got my P's... carload of dudes... trying to do foot-on... BANG!!! No sungears left in the diff. OOps Also airborne over a crest, missing a corner and ending up in a (thank God fenceless) spud paddock... Buried to the sills in soft red mud!! Using her as an official car for a club rally. No helmets, harnesses or cage. Scaring Dad as we flew along gravel roads!! Beating a VL thru a twisty road. VL owned NOT happy!! And... err... the only car I have shagged in!! :P  (Owned the BMW for 3 years and STILL haven't christened it... :hmmm: I'll have to fix that!!) Quote
Mr Hardware Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 In 2002 a mate of mine had his mum's maroon AE92 seca 5spd. We took it fanging and we got the tacho to hold on the pin at 8000rpm. Damn it stunk. Then we took it up on two wheels going round a dippy corner. Then after i owned the '55 for a little while, i went to a mates place on a farm and we did big donuts in a paddock. its hard to change direction in 2nd gear in a stock '55 and keep em spinning. But it is possible... Quote
ancullen Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 (edited) Taking my KE55 for a test drive (before I bought her). She was a bit of a pain to get started, and there were some fuelling issues, but f@$k me she got up and out of Dodge pretty quick!!! We did something like 120-140km/h down some back roads and just enjoyed the beautiful noise of a 4A-GZE being wrung by the neck. Edited April 26, 2006 by ancullen Quote
Dan Posted April 26, 2006 Author Report Posted April 26, 2006 120-140km/h down some back roads Private back roads :lmao: Quote
corolla_bitten Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 my best experience was at night when me old girl was drivin, i think i was pissed or sick or both, and the copper pulled her over, he went over the whole car, started writing a heap of shit done until he came to the window and seen a little oldish lady drivin, and did a breath test and let her go, was the funniest thing ever. seeing a ke70 with 9in wide wheels on the back was pretty memorable aswell, scrubbed on inner and outer gaurd :lmao: Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 Learning how to do burnouts, hand brake turns and generally controlling over-steer in the state forest along the bruce hwy. :lmao: Quote
Corolla Test Pilot Posted April 28, 2006 Report Posted April 28, 2006 My first time piloting a metal box at 100mph...sneaking out on my L's at midnight. Oh and by the way, sorry to the deluded guy who thinks his 4speed ever did 185km/h, but rolla speedos tend to get some pretty grand ideas over 110km/h, my ke70 used to tell me that we were travelling somewhere in the region of 200km/h, however my friend kindly agreed to run his 250 Bandit alongside me while i maxed her out, 165km/h was as good as it got. How i long for a 5 speed... Quote
ancullen Posted April 28, 2006 Report Posted April 28, 2006 Private back roads :) Yes, er, 'private' back roads. :lmao: Quote

How i long for a 5 speed... *shrugs* I was the one driving, i knew the car well and everything was in good running order, wasn't a shitbox. it was also aided by extractors. 2" system w/ 3" muff, ram-flo and cold winter night. t wasn't sitting on that for a long time, but enough for me to notice... Deluded, nice... Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 I'd love to see a standard 4K 4speed do 185...I couldn't get my supercharged one that high with a 4speed....175 was as far as it got....but with the 5 speed it went well past 180 Quote
casey Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 abit of a grave dig but anyways, my first memorable moment with a corolla was a bog stock ke36 pano. i was doing skids on a 16'' kiddys bike and my mate asked what i was doing and i told him that i was seing how many skids it would take to pop the tire. anyways he sat next to us and baged them up for quite a while, resulting in a smoked out street and the popo crusing up and down it for an hour, great fun i should realy find out who has it now Quote
Medicine_Man Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Medicine_Man (my brother) first got his KE70 and we took it for a strap around the yard, he couldn't drive yet and i'd only had my licence about 8 months? We came around the front side of the house and I forgot it had no brakes so I put it completely sideways on the grass for about 10 metres while we both held our breath and thought "OH SHIT" I thought it was going to roll :2thumbs: Most memorable experience was skidpan 2004 with my old car whitey, never had so much fun! Amen to that.. Another memorable experience was being pulled up by 3 cop cars down the Brisbane airport when I first got my KE70 on the road. The copper attending to me asked me to open the boot (Obviously expecting burnout smoke I assume?) And saw nothing inside by my gigantic toolbox ("Is there tools in there?) <-- He got the most stupid question of the year award. Then one copper proceeded to say how my car wasn't capable of doing a burnout.. Quote
casey Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 haha anythings capable of doing a burnout if you clamp the brake lines :2thumbs: (personal experiance) Quote
mattress Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 My first memorable experience in a rolla was when i was in grade 12 (about 6 years ago). A mate had an older friend who was on his way to pick us up cause we had been drinking. What turned up was an immaculate orange KE10 with a heavily worked 4K. I so badly hate orange but that car was hot and quite quick for what it was. I'm still trying to track this guy down in my local area to see if he has anything for me.... Quote
